[100] Hi Dr "B" I know today you're going to get your chemo treatment, I hope the treatment go well. Just remember what I told you, be a good patient and let the staff take care of Dr "B". I'm praying for you. Love Virginia

[99] Hey Dr. Pam, I'm sending positive thoughts and inner strength to help you with "Round 1" of your chemo. You can do this, and all the warm thougths sent by your loved ones, friends and coworkers are just reminders of how special you are to so many of us. I have one bit of advise as shared with me from my friend TT, from GM's office: Premedicate, accept each offer as intended, it will make the side effects more tolerable. Prayers and strength for you and your family this week. I look forward to seeing you when you get home. Love, Missy

[98] I heard about your website and your challenge. I'm pulling for you and I hope things work out. My prayers and thoughts are with you this day.

Chris Winslow

[95] Pam,

Our thoughts and prayers are with you. See you in August. Sandy, brian, Krista and Megan

[94] Your long-planned vacation to Australia has been delayed, not cancelled. When you lie in bed, looking at the ceiling, imagine pictures of great golden beaches, pefect waves that have travelled thousands of miles just to reach you, clouds of colourful fish of all sizes hiding amongst forests of dazzling coral, green-as-green golf courses, rainforests and desserts full of surprising plants and animals, all waiting for You, Pam. We expect you here as soon as you recover. Tony Andrews

[93] Hi Pam--Good luck this week with the Chemo. I check your journal almost every day to see how things are going. Keep up the good fight!

Marty S.

[92] Your Lake Monticello Buddies are ready and waiting for your return on July 15th from round one of your chemotherapy. Each of us will be on call for you for a day. Your wants and needs will be met with a 9:00am phone call, a visit, a smile, lunch, whatever. You will even find dinner and goodies in the freezer each day. We are thinking about you and hoping all goes well in Pittsburgh.

Love,

Linda Crummette, Judy Decker, Joan Godsey, Barbara Haas, Marianne Hill, Marilyn MacGill, Claire van Nierop, Susan Ruffini, Corie Vestigo, Phyllis Webster, Julia Whiting and Lou

[92] I wish for you...   Comfort on difficult days,  Smiles when sadness intrudes  Rainbows to follow the clouds,  Laughter to kiss your lips,   Sunsets to warm your heart,   Gentle hugs when spirits sag,   Friendships to brighten your being,   Beauty for your eyes to see,  Confidence for when you doubt,  Faith so that you can believe,  Courage to know yourself,   Patience to accept the truth,   And love to complete your life.   I asked the Lord to bless you   As I prayed for you today   To guide you and protect you  As you go along your way....  His love is always with you   His promises are true,  You know He will see us through.  So when the road you're traveling on  Seems difficult at best   God will do the rest.

Love and all our best wishes and prayers for you Aunt Janie and Cousin Laurie

[83] Hi Pam. Double-digits today at golf? I made it back to Dallas safe and sound last night... and, yes, I slept in big-time this morning. I had a wonderful time in VA. I was overwhelmed. You live in the midst of great warmth and welcome. Thanks for sharing that with me... and thanks to all of you Lake-sters who made me feel so welcomed. Pam, I suspect you will be healthy again too soon for me to improve my golf game significantly. I'd better start practicing if I'm going to return to give you any kind of challenge. I'm sending Kat a gob of pictures. You two can figure out what you like - if any - for the site. Good luck. Take care. I love you. - tom

[82] Pam,

Pat Robertson, my sister at MJH told me about your web page. You used to live across the street from me at Lake Monticello You were on Amethyst and we lived on Wisteria. My husband and I will be praying for you. I have also placed your name on the prayer list at Bethel Baptist Church, Palmyra and they will be praying for you. Hang in there. God works miracles and will give you the strength that you need to face this ordeal. God Bless You - Connie Tillman

[81] Pam - Love the website! Thanks for the call last night and the card (I am sure that it will arrive soon). Keep you spirits up. You are in our thoughts. Good luck on Mon.! Love - Ronni, Dave, Sean, Jason, and Matthew

[80] Hey pam, I just found out about your web site. It's great that you are open to sharing this fight with everyone who cares about you! I've thought about you every day since I heard. You will beat this I know and you have sooo many people who love and care about you, you are definately not alone. You'll have to come over for dinner one night and maybe some cards with the girls okay? I'de love to get in a game of golf with you sometime too. I know you'll beat me!! Know you are in my thoughts and prayers, Deb Morley

[79] Good Luck at golf today! - Kat

[78] Hi Pam, Here I am pulling a 12 hour shift till 3:00, thought I would check in on you. Leaving for Pa. tomorrow. You would have loved tonight it was pure hell!!! But we survived. Hope to see you soon. Teresa

[77] Been there. Done that. And I have come out of the "other side" with an appreciation of what is yet to be. Bill Stewart gave me your web site address tonight and I will see your progress through his eyes as well as your own. This journey you are making is sometimes frightening, but hilarious, too! And the one that I made just over four years ago, will give me fodder for a lifetime (plus)! God blesses us strangely, sometimes, when that word that used to start with a capital "C" becomes a blessing. Understand it? No. Accept it? Mayhaps! But appreciate the life we have yet to live? ALWAYS! Kristin Peura

Please visit Peace Lutheran Church on the web at http://www.plchurch.org

[76] Hi Pam! My wonderful manager has given me Aug. 2nd (Thurs.) OFF so I can be with you in Pittsburgh during your second round of therapy. Thank You Lynn. Please add that to your calendar. Have a relaxing weekend with Mom! See you Tues. Night! Love Barb

[75] Pam, Happy 4th to you. I think auburn would look great. Please what ever you do don't go blonde. Trust me they do not have more fun. Miss you much. Gotta go for now. love, Windy

[74] Pam, Since some blasted tick has kept me out of the loop for more than a month, I was stunned when you told me about your illness. After getting over that immediate reaction, I wanted you to know that I'll keep you in my prayers and heart while you're in PA. Remember..positive thoughts. Good golf, good friends, good food, ..auburn hair maybe. Don't get hung up on numbers. You are unique, and very strong. Remember that, too. Cold beer is in my fridge every day. Arlene

[73] Dear Pam, Gita and I have been thinking of you since we heard the news the other day. After we had railed against the unfairness of fate, we could only hope and pray that you beat this thing! Your courage and indomitable sense of humor is truly awesome. I look forward to having you call me again sometime in the wee hours of the morning to tell me that I need to admit someone to the hospital. Just remember to keep it to a minimum. With love and affection, Ashok and Gita.

[72] Pam - I don't know you, but my mother does, and she has always had good things to say about you. She called me yesterday to tell me about this development. Keep up that positive attitude. I am convinced that makes the difference. Your strength is an inspiration. If you need golf partners, let us know. My in-laws are visiting from England until mid July, but my hubby plays as well. Take care, and KEEP THE FAITH. You'll be in our thoughts and prayers. Christy Macaulay (Lake Monticello) A.Bowling's daughter.

[71] Dear Pam, Greetings from Marcia. I, too, work with your sister Barb. There is quite a resemblance, from what I saw of your photo with your "head gear". As for hair color, may I vote for red? ( I just can't imagine Barb as a blonde!) Hang in there. With such a fantastic support system, you can beat this. Best wishes! Marcia Gladfelter

[70] Pam I saw your web site address in the pro shop today. Just want to let you know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. Hope to see you back here real soon. Barbara & Ty Cobb Lake Monticello

[69] Sorry to have temporarily deleted several of your Journal entries on Monday; I put them all back and promise not to do it again (I hope). I'm actually only a "webnovice," but "webmaster" just sounds better. Love, Karen

[68] Dear Pam, I just wanted to let you know that you are in the thoughts and prayers of everyone here at MJH. If there is anything you need or want, please don't hesitate to ask! Take care, Cyndi Payne, MJPHO

[67] Pam will live another 60 years because my finanical plan designed for her says so - hang in there Pam.

Scott

[66] To my darling angel from hell from your lone midnight persecutor of a nurse. I thought I would start my note to you with something you could laugh about. I went through chemo and many surgeries with my sister who was diagnosed with bone CA in 1980. At times things where very grim, we where even told "there's nothing else we can do - it will not be long". However God had different plans. Today she is doing very well. Eighteen years since her last treatment. They also told her that she would never have children, but today she has two beautiful children. I thought I might share this with you and maybe it might give you some hope on those dark days. Miss working with you at good old MJH. My thoughts and prayers are with you. If on a bad day you just want to yell, kick, scream and cry (and beat someone upside the head with a golf culb) I volunteer! (After all, with my hard head it wouldn't hurt) Please let me know if there is anything else I can do. Until then lots of love, luck and laughter. Sam

[65] Pam, Kandi said you needed one of my jingles. You must be sicker than we thought, but have no fear I will come up w/ a good one. Who knows maybe I will be famous. O.K. maybe not. Anyway, we all miss you & I say a prayer everyday. Love, Windy

[64] Pam, I did not go to the June "Happy Hour"...so, that is why I am out of the loop.

[63] I will keep up with your fight via this site and I will have you in my thoughts all the time. If anyone can lick this demon..you will be the one..so, I am already putting you into the %age group that whips it. Sincerely, Troxie

[62] Pam- Just found out about your web site. We were shocked to hear about your MMM. Your cousins in Lexington are all pulling for you. Love, Betsy

[61] Pam, I just re-read you July calendar and saw that we still have the Holiday Inn listed as home base for the first week of chemo. I'll have Kat update it to Shadyside Inn when I am up there babysitting tomorrow. (Since Shadyside has confirmed our reservation for 7/8 through 7/13, and I have cancelled the Holiday Inn reservation. Love you lots, Honey, and am with you 100% in this terrible ordeal you are facing. We can lick it! Mom

[60] July 1, 2001: Dear Pam; Karen gave us your website, and we are glad to keep informed of your progress. The best thing that we can do is to offer earnest prayers for your recovery. Love, Paul and Demi May

[59] Pam, Found your website, great idea to keep everyone informed of your progress. It will be GOOD PROGRESS, I know. Everyone at Grace & Glory is praying for you. You must be one of the reasons that we started the mission church at this time. Dick and I are here for you whenever. Stop in or call anytime.Supper is on the table whenever you might feel like it. I think that an auburn wig might do the trick if needed. Love, Barbara and Dick H.

[58] HEY THERE PAM I SAY FORGET THE WIG GET A BASEBALL CAP THEY DO WONDERS FOR MY BALDING HEAD.HOPE YOU ARE DOING WELL.IF THERE IS ANYTHING I CAN DO FOR YOU PLEASE DON'T HESITATE TO CALL OR EMAIL ME. YOU ARE IN MY THOUGHT AND PRAYERS. LOVE YA BILL RAGLAND

[57] Cuz! My thoughts and prayers are with you every day. You can beat this thing. Look how many people are on your team. Paul, Paws, and Stripes all send their love (me too). Love- Em.

[56] Pam, As I said the other day by the pool, God is going to have to listen with all these people praying for you - plus you are going to have to get back down here and beat Tammy some more at golf! I will be keeping you in my prayers.

Maureen Watts

[55] Pam, Hope you are doing well, we all miss you in the ER. If you need anything at all please ask. Hope you see you back soon. Good Luck with you up coming treatments, you might want to try being a blonde for awhile, it always worked for me. Ha Ha!!

Love Teresa Gray

[54] Pam

Hope you are doing well. Keep playing golf. I,m sure you will break 100 soon. I think you would look great as a BLONDE. My uncle supplies me with lots of jokes I can send you.

Jim

[53] Pam,

Don't know if we should be signing the guestbook so many times but you are in our thoughts quite often these days. Trying to settle into a summer routine. Love this web site - enjoy keeping informed. Let us know if you have any special requests for sweets - we'll be sure to bring a sufficient quantity in August.

P.S. - Forget the blonde - believe blonde jokes are the girls favorite!

Sandy, Brian, Krista and Megan

[52] Hey, Pam! I enjoyed your visit! The company was great, the food was wonderful, and the golf was....well, it was golf. So much for our delusions of golfing grandeur! Okay, here's the deal. Since we failed in our quest to break 100 this week, you are now obligated NOT to get sick from the chemo. Do your week of drugs then get on back down here so we can keep trying! See you soon! Love, Tammy

[51] Hi Pam, Think about you often - everyday. Because of our busy lives and the distance, I regret that we haven't seen eachother much as adults. I have many fond memories of the great times we shared in our Summers at Plum Court or at the Lake. Your high spirits and determination are so inspirational. I want to see you soon. If you don't have plans to come up to Gloucester, I'd like to come down to your place O.K.? In the meantime, we'll be following your progress on this website (great idea!). You can add us to your prayer chain! Lots of love, Nanci & Joe Virgilio & kids

[50] Dear Pam,

I saw Barb in the OR last week and she told me about the melanoma and your web site. I'm currently sitting in L&D with 2 inductions and several women who are trying hard to convince me that they are in labor! I wish I had something profound and truly inspiration to offer, unfortunately I don't. I have been thinking about you a lot this week. Sounds like you're doing a great job (I read your journal).

If you get up York way anytime soon, let me know. I'll give Barb my phone #. I write again sometime when I have more time. Maybe I'll think up that inspirational thought. I've been praying for you

Tracey Grim

[49] Hi Pam. Just getting caught up on your journal and guest book. You are on prayer lists all over, including the Cathedral of Hope here in Dallas. Bob has you in prayers at his church - MCC Longview as well.

After reading all these special messages, it would seem you have an enormous World Wide Web of your own. See you Saturday. Love, cuz tom

[48] Since Millie is feeling a bit better, and is dusting off her charge cards, I am going to have to do something to supplement my income. Since you are a key member of our golf tournament group, and were instrumental in our winning big bucks, I need to count on you for some of the upcoming events. Just consider what you are going through as a short-term character builder, and a little hiccup in the cycle of life. See you soon.

Kirt

Pam, you know that we all think the world of you, and enjoy your company very much. Hang on to your sense of humor, and please allow your friends to help you go through this ordeal.

Millie

[47] Good Morning. Bet you can't guess where we are!!! Wish you were here! Hope you're having a great day. Stop by to visit us in the ED soon. We were thinking that you would look good as a blonde, so as you look at wigs try the Dolly Parton look. You know what they say about blondes having more fun!!!! Love Ya, Miss U! Virginia and Rhonda

[46] Hi Pam sorry to hear about what is going on with you. I happened to be online when Barb got on and after an im, found out about you. You and I may not remember all the stuff we did when we were younger but I can still remember your close knit family and the times at the lake. Funny how I don't remember any sunscreen moments though. They just didn't know what they know now. I know nothing about what you are experincing but I intend to research it some. Rob is upstairs and I'm sure he will agree with me when I say we will keep you in our prayers and visit this site often to stay abreast of your situation. I have faith that you will overcome this and spread your story for others to become more informed. Take care, love Pat Furlong Cleary and Rob Cleary

[45] Hi Pam, just wanted to let you know the doppelbock is in the fermenter and will get to you soon. Hang in there. Paul

[44] Dear Pam, We work with your sister Barb at the Hospital, and want to let you know that we're rooting for you!! You are in our thoughts and prayers. Keep up that fight! If you're anything like Barb, we know you'll come out the winner!! Great Web site. Lori Bowers and Kimberly Wilker

[43] Pam Your website is wonderful....You are so fortunate to have so many friends and acquaintances praying for you. Prayer works because we serve an awesome God. I too have placed your name on the prayer list at Calvary Baptist Church in Charlottesville and WE ARE praying for you--praying for your recovery, praying that God will give you strength, courage and peace. I know you have some tough days ahead but lean on God. He wants to carry you through this. If there is anything that I can do for you here at MJH or anything else, let me know. Know that we love you and care for you. Pat Robertson

[42] Hi Pam, I'm a good friend of Barb's at York Hospital-we work together most of the time. Although we've never met, I really feel like I know you from talking with her. I'm sorry to hear about the great challenge you've been dealt, but know you will meet it just like you have done everything else. You are in my thoughts and prayers and on the prayer list of everyone at Calvary United Methodist Church-York. Take care. Amy Coons

[41] Pam,

I tried to e'mail you through your web site but being a computer/internet idiot, I failed. I'll try this instead. You are in my thoughts and prayers. I know you'll give this a heck of a fight. Keep playing golf and enjoying your many friends. I'll try to hook up with you in PA this summer if you're up to having visitors after chemo. I love you.

Cousin Jeff

[40] Dr. Pam, Today (6/27), was my first day back to work and was thrilled to hear about your website! What a great way to keep us all up to date on your progress and for you to know we are all thinking about you. You have been in my thoughts and prayers since the moment I heard you were sick. I miss you in the ER and pray that all will go well for you. Please try to keep a smile on your face and a golf club in your hand! Love and Prayers Barbara Goodrich

[39] Pam,

Good to hear you are still trying to improve that golf game! Brian hasn't had much time to get out and play - hopefully a few times before the August visit. Keeping you in our prayers.

Sandy, Brian, Krista and Megan

[38] Hi Pam, I've been keeping up with your latest challenge through Julia. I pray for strength and healing, and invision you surrounded with love and light. YES, I do think running around with your baby nephews is getting you in shape for the chemo. If a kids energy could be bottled imagine what we could accomplish! One thing is, we could keep up with them : ) Keep playing golf and I'll stay in touch through your web site. What a great idea this is!! Love Katie

[37] Hi Dr. "B", Hope you're having a good day. I miss you! Love, Virginia

[36] Hi Pam, We're all thinking of you today and just wanted to say hello and let you know we love you and miss you! Ursula says to say hello and "I Love You" also she said be sure and check your voice mail at home. Hope you're having a great day, take care!

Rhonda, Susan W, Missy!

[35] Dear Pam, I work with your sister Barb at York Hospital. She is keeping us up to date with your treatments. We here in York are all supportive of her and you. I am sorry we had to meet this way, but I think your web site is a great idea. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Phyllis Ingram

[34] Pam, this website is a great idea and although the journal entries make me a tad sad, I do like being kept up to date on your thoughts. You are certainly in our thoughts and prayers. Please let us know of anything we can do to help. Love, Derek and Melanie Wow, Mel Gibson is on your guest list - you go girl !

[33] Pam, Another thought; you cannot apply the statistics of a population to an individual. Dick

[32] Dear Pam, You're an amazing being! But you all know that. I was shocked to hear the news, finally called your parents, as I don't have your number (and you are in SC playing golf). If there's anything I can do for you please call.  You're in our prayers. Dick Rhodes

[31] Dear Pam, Love reading all your fan mail. Isn't it nice to know so many people care and are praying for your recovery? I had a good golf day today (for me) and hope you did too. Stay positive. Denial isn't in your vocabulary... Love, Aunt Mernie

[30] hello Pam, tried to email you at the .Com address, not sure if you got it, I think my company firewall blocked. I will of course try again. But at least reading your journal makes me feel connected, even if disjointed. Your journal is awesome. Denial is not always a bad thing. If it keeps the positive vibes stronger then deny deny... but keep reality close by, you may need it for something or other. Love ya, Ronni

[29] Pam - We had a great time visiting with you - you are a wonderful hostess. When we got home and Andrew started crying, David told me "he wants his Aunt Pam back," a feeling I completely understand.  If you check your calendar, you will see that I updated it to show that we are planning to see you again soon, in Pittsburgh.  You WILL beat this thing. Love, Karen & Bob.

[28] Hi Pam -- I happen to know the Brothers gene quite well and if anyone can knock out the evil cells its you. Think of you every day!

Marty

You only have to do it once! I have started a novena to St. Joseph for you. It has never been known to fail. So here's hoping! Joanna Hitchner

[25] Hey, Pam...finally checked out your website...I like it! Do you have to get a terrible disease to get one? It was great to see you looking like the Auntie Pam we know and love, wallowing in the lake today! See you tomorrow! Love, Lynn

[24] Hi Dr.Pam: Joan and I spoke with Marianne Hill this a.m. after church at Palmyra Methodist. Wow, what a shock to hear. [22] Hi Pam, Just wanted to say hello and let you know I think of you often. Love the website, what a great idea! Carlos and I tried to log on this morning at work so we could see how you were doing and write you a note but we were unable to send a message because something was wrong with the server. Anyway... we miss you, hope you're feeling well and we look forward to seeing you when you stop by the ED. Take Care. Love & Prayers, Rhonda

[10] Pam, this is great! Keep the journal going so that we can keep up with progress. We're pulling for you. Love you, Janie

[9] Hello Pam! Loved reading your journal, it's like speaking with you, I can almost hear you. You are one tough cookie and as I said (being a math major) stats are made cuz someone breaks the odds! That someone will be YOU!! Much love - Ronni (and family)

[5] Pam, the website is great, and I hope it makes it easy for you to keep us all up to date, while avoiding annoying repetition. Everyone at work has really been solicitous, and wants to be sure you get their good wishes. I like the calendar, because I'm afraid I'll misplace scraps of paper with your travel plans and the like. We don't want to be kept out of the loop! xoxoxo Julia
