[900] Dear Pam, Yeah! (and now you know what it is like for the rest of us to have to wait and wait in a doctor's office!) We will continue the prayers to keep any tumors from creeping into your head - and the rest of your body, too of course. Love, Mernie

FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!! Good Job! Keep hanging in there Pam. We need you.

Jim

Yea! Glad to hear the MRI was negative and you are so positive! (you're positive the scan was negative, right?) Keep recharging those batteries, you're going to kick this cancer's butt. love, cuz tom

Monday evening - Just checked to see how you made out today. Glad you got a good report. Keeping you in my prayers. If there is anything I can do to help you, I'll be glad to email you my phone number. Chris M.'s Mom

Pam -- so glad to read your entry tonight. We have been away for nine days and just caught up with your journal. Ralph & Ann

Hi Pam, It's 8:15 pm on Monday and we are all waiting to hear that you have had a NEGATIVE MRI! Keep up the spirit and we'll keep up the prayers. Hope all is well. Love you, Janie

Praying for you and your family....Evie Miller

******DISCLAIMER*****DISCLAIMER*** Sorry Pam! In my last message to you I hoped for a "positive outcome" from your MRI this morning. Of course I wrote for a positive MRI and in doctor speak that means something is found! OUCH. I truely want a positive outcome for YOU, therefore I hope for a NEGATIVE MRI today!!! I'll be thinking of you, hang in there Girl!! Love Katie S. *****DISCLAIMER*****DISCLAIMER****

Hi Pam, I hope your MRI is positive. Weekends are the pits unless you stay busy. With two kids I never have time to worry. Need to borrow them? Now Pam, if you intend to kick the cancer's butt, what are you going to do with your time? There is still a welcome home party to plan, and photo's to arrange. You could take up cropping and put all of your photo's onto pages complete with journaling. (or you could not). Before your trip you were in contact with family and friends regularly. It reminded me to do the same. Thanks. Now, I pray tomorrows MRI is positive so you can begin planning what's to come! I'll be thinking of you! Love Katie S.

Hi Pam!! Good luck and lots of prayers and positive thoughts for Monday's tests. I hope your symptoms are just part of your healing process. I'm sure you have to expect some bizarre symptoms after having someone mucking around inside of your head. Love ya' Tracey

Dear Pam, Extra prayers for tomorrow's MRI. Maybe your imagination is just working overtime and everything is OK in there. Love, Mernie

Hi Pam, glad your headache is better. Did you enjoy your movie? I have not seen that one yet and have been thinking about seeing it. Have a good one! Dar (Barb's friend)

Hey Pam! How's are things going? Well I hope. Just wanted to say Hi. Hope you had fun in Austrailia. I hope to see you soon. Tricia Toone

Hello True Grit, (That is you, Pam), Thank you for the get well card for Demi, who has made a remarkable recovery from her stroke. You are a great role model for us older kids on the block. Love and Prayers from Demi and Paul May, members of the PPA, (Pam's Prayer Army)

Hi, Pam. Several of my fellow spectators were asking about you at baseball practice tonight and were delighted to hear that you might get down here soon to do the sumter social scene at the ballpark. Between the two children we practice Tues, Wed, Thurs, and Saturday so odds are good you'll get the chance to go! See you soon! Love, Tammy

Pam Great to read your new news. It is amazing and wonderful. Now you are going think positive thoughts and everyone will keep praying. Bless you, Vivian Kendrick

Dear Pam, Got back from St. John last night and was so relieved to see that you are doing so well. Keep it up. Expect your headaches are worse than my daily ones, but yours seem to be letting up some. It has been snowing all day here (first day of Spring!) Makes my tan look even darker! I used 30 most of the time instead of my usual 15. Saw lots of turtles this year, but none to match your Mom. Love, Mernie

Hi Pam, Yes! I agree with Dr G. You are kicking butt and I for one am very proud of your courage. No need to think about death or dying. What a waste of energy. You need "kick butt" energy for your body to keep up the good fight! You have been a witness to all of us about the power that you have, and that we all have, to fight adversity with a positive mental outlook and prayers. I for one have benefitted GREATLY by your example. Thanks!! I'll be in touch and you continue to be in my prayers. GO Girl...Kick Butt! Love Katie S.

Great news. Makes all of us praying people feel really proud. We'll keep at it and hopefully you'll have more good reports in the future. S. Ruffini

Congrats on the doctor's opinion! You never know how much a positive attitude and lots of prayer power works!....Evie Miller, Dallas, TX

Pam, In a moment of peace and quiet (a rare occurance as you know), I thought I'd give you another perspective to ponder. You have been presented with the impetous to recognize just how precious every day is. Most of us forget to do that. So I every day when I pin your ribbon on my sweater, I remind myself just how cool it is to be here. And I thank you for that! So ponder less about dying and more about all the lives you touch each day! Love, Ronni

Show no mercy! - love, tom

Pam - never mind; I guess it does work after all. Don't hold your breath for those e-mail though. Love Drew.

Pam - this is just a test because it doesn't appear that all my entries are getting posted. -Drew

Pam - Just a quick note to let you know that I'm thinking about you. My wife - Cathleen - who is the techie in the family figured out how to download pictures from our new digital camera; a gift from her parents who are starved for more pictures of the grandkids. I'll e-mail them to you as soon as I figure out how to do this; hopefully this week. They look more like the mailman than me - what's up with that? -Drew from Beantown.

3/18 - Hello Pam - its good to read that you are feeling better every day! Hey, at least boring and napping beats being carved open with a scalpel.

Was reminiscing about the old CC days this weekend with Jim Kutz, from your class, and he wanted me to say "hi" from him. Our sons are playing baseball in the same league, and he actually lives right down the street.

Here's praying for your continued improvement, and take it easy! - Chris

Pam: Don't worry about fancy words. Just a short note to say you are checking in will make us all feel better. Take care....Evie Miller, Dallas, Tx

Hi Hon, Hate this time of year when I have to get my taxes ready for the accountant. Glad that you had all yours done before the big brain surgery. How come you are so organized? I'm so happy that you are doing all right on your own, but please know, that whenever you need me I am only a 3.5 hour drive away and can be ther in 4.0 hours (give me .5 hours to get organized). Love you loads. Mom

Pam: It may sound strange to you, but you are where most of us are in terms of "new and exciting". You've just come off a heck of a high with that most ambitious trip. Time to veg-out a bit and re-group. After Australia , New Zealand, etc., Lake M. is going to seem a bit in the order of slow three-quarter time. Happy to hear you are slowly getting your wide awake eyes back. Love and prayers, F/J Sola

Pam, So great to chat last night! You sound terrif! We love to read every little tidbit, they can't all be about glamorous, adventurous visits abroad. As always there are still aspects of your life that I can live through - oh to take a nap!! Enjoy them while you can, cuz when you come up for your next visit, it's not usually quite enough for much napping! Love, Ronni Dave and the boys too

Pam, You are amazing! It has been only 10 days since you have had major brain surgery and you are on doing so fantastically well. Your Mom (my sister) has gone home and you are on your own with local support. Keep it up. I expect you to start reporting on your golf scores before long. Our winter in New England has been most unusual with only about 8 inches all winter. All the spring bulbs are trying so hard to bloom, but keep getting set back with blasts of cold winds. Our golf course doesn't open up until April 1st and even that depends on how wet March has been. Hang in there. Looking forward to the big family reunion here in Gloucester in June - expect you here fully recovered. Love you, Janie

pam weather was nice up here in carlisle too. of course was in the dungeon all day and did not even know it was nice until the shift ended. why don't they put some windows in that e.r. ? some things never change. love to read about your daily successes and your trips to and fro. love barb.thimgan

Just keep writing something. No news is good news as they say so at least say hello and tell us how you are feeling. So glad you are getting better. We'll keep the prayers going. Susan Ruffini

Hi Pam, Sooo glad you are feeling better. I always feel a bit low after the excitement of a fun trip ends. Sleep alot. You continue to be in my prayers and hope for healing. Love, Katie S.

Hi, Honey. I miss you already, but it is good to be home with your Dad. You know that if you need me to be down there for you, just give me 4 hours notice. My car has the trip down pat. Meanwhile, I hope I can get my taxes to the accountant. Being away most of the time from the 2nd of February doesn't leave time to get some important things done. Glad to see your messages from Laura, Lynn, and Connie. What a neat site! Love you loads, Mom

Pam -- Janie (Mom) has been keeping me up-to-date on your surgery and recovery. Prayers, Guardian Angels, and Luck sure are on your side!! Hope you keep getting better!! I just wanted you to know that I am thinking of you, even though I don't write in the guest book very often. -- Lots and Lots of Love from your cuz, Laura

Hi, Pam, and everyone! I can vouch for the fact that Pam looked a lot better yesterday. She was actually able to tolerate a short visit to my house (with two of three kids actually awake and in the same room!). We wolfed down popcorn, and visited a while. It was great to see Pam looking like Pam! Lynn

glad to hear you are feeling so much better. will be interested in hearing what they think about further gamma rays . rest as much as you can in between doing the things you likie to do . take care dj

Pam, I just got back from Haiti and heard about your surgery. I will try to keep myself better informed. I am so sorry for all your pain and suffering. I know you must be surrounded with folks but if the numbers drift down some time and you would like me to visit, I would enjoy that. Bless you, Wil

Dear Pam, I'm one of those who log on to check on you. I also talk with Tammy so she can keep me informed. I'm glad to hear the surgery went so well and you're feeling better. Not much new in Sumter. Miss you. Nina

Reading your guest book gives you something to do. At last count there were12,882 visits to your page. I know not everyone leaves you a message, but just think of all of those people thinking about you. I leave for Chicago tomorrow to visit my sister & father. Marty is going to go to Florida on Friday for a golf weekend with some friends. You wanna bet the weather in Florida will be better than Chicago!!! But I get to have Chicago Pizza! It's better than McDonald's meals, but don't tell Greg Carpenter I said so. I haven't noticed you having a happy meal lately. Maybe that's just what the doctor ordered? Rest up and get better. Love, Connie & Marty

Pam - don't worry if it seems boring, you can't be sending us updates from Australia forever. Actually, I hear Nepal is nice. Just kidding.

Get your rest, you deserve it.

Glenn, Rosanne, Kate, Daniel

Think of those naps as lucious brain-healing time. Your body will reward you soon. Ooops. Sounding a little too fortune-cookie there. Must be the thought of Chinese food. later, tom

Pam - Sorry that it's been such a long interval between journal entries. My wife and I went to ME with two other couples and their kids. Six kids under the age of three under one roof - what were we thinking. Needless to say, we all contracted the three week flu and are just getting over it. I've enjoyed following your journey in the East and can't wait to vist there myself someday. Your zest for life is enspiring and I think about you often. Keep the faith. I'd love to come visit and "let" you beat me at golf. Trust me, you wouldn't need any extra strokes - but I might. I also want in on one of your lobster feasts. Love always, Drew from Beantown.

Hi, Pam and Mom! I made it home safe and sound, pulled in just as the kids were getting home from school. Since you are too modest to put it in your journal let me just tell your readers that brain surgery, fatigue, etc. were not enough to keep you from trouncing us in cards! It was great to see you. I hope you continue to improve and are soon ready for a trip down here. Let me know so I can arrange supper club and tee times. Love, Tammy.

3/11 - Good morning Pam...what an exciting first "field trip"...hopefully you'll shortly be out on the links again! Once you get those photos organized, I hope we get to see some of them here in the photo album. Glad you are starting to feel better - go easy and give yourself time to recover! Take care and hang in there! Chris

3/11/02 Hi Pam, Sounds like you are feeling better. About that last message from me......nevermind :) Love, Katie S.

Hey Pam!! Don't know if my last note went through....so here goes again. Dawn and I both enjoyed reading about your recent trip. Maybe someday Dawn and I'll be able to make the same trip. I try and check your site from time to time to see how you are progressing. Alittle note about Dawn...she is now off ALL narcs, what a relief! She seems to be holding her own....but we need to keep out fingers crossed. Our hearts and prayers go out to you!! Dawn and Ed Pryor

Hey Pam!! Sounds like things moving along. Enjoyed reading about your trip across country and Hawaii. Maybe someday Dawn and I will make the same trip. Dawn is doing much better now NO MORE narcs. Thanks for all your help in dealing with Dawn. Hope thing go well for you. You are in our prayers! Ed and Dawn Pryor

Hi Pam, I do hope you are better today, 3/10/02. Your last two journals made me wonder if you are actually in pain most of the time because you are not taking enough for your pain. It's exhausting to be in pain, one way to cope is to sleep. Somewhere between tylenol and morphine is relief. Call Dr G. and get something for pain so you can function. Plenty of choices!! You're in my prayers baby, hope you feel better soon. Love, Katie S.

Hi Dr. Pam, You live a very exciting life! I'm relived that your surgery went well. I had no idea of the extent of your operation. I am so glad you came through it with your sense of humor still intact!! Hang in there, and let me know when I can pop in and cheer you up a bit. Love, Missy

Am glad you had a fantastic trip! Hope the fluid removal helps your headaches. Time is strength!! You'll soon be out on the course again. Praying for you!!!! Kathy T.

Glad you are home, and hope you are starting to feel better.Just seeing the daffodils and forsythia starting to show their lovely yellows is enough to convince me that spring is here....your tee time is calling.Loved the notes from Australia, and Leanne got the stamps. You are in my prayers.xoPatti

Hi Pam. Do you have some great pictures of the trip that I don't have and would want? I look forward to seeing them. I'm back at work Sat. night shift and everyone asked about you. Once again Marcia kept your journal posted in the lounge. Glad to hear your headaches are less frequent and that you are trying to get back to a normal sleep schedule. Love you! Barb

Dear Pam, Thinking of you. Sounds like your trip was fantastic, our love and prayers are with you. All our love, Pat & Skip.

Hi Pam, YOU are an AMAZING WOMAN!! If you, or your family, need another person to help you out, count me in. Even though nurses try their best to be attentive, you are one of many patients they have to care for. When I had Marc, (my only hospitalization) I couldn't wait to get the heck out! How did those women of days gone by stand to be in there for days after childbirth. They must have been drugged. Home is the best place to heal. As you start feeling better you can go through your photo's from your trip and have some really healing laughter! Welcome Home, Love, Katie S.

Pam THINKING OF YOU!! LOVE Jim

Pam, you are amazing. Did the hospital make you sign an AMA form for leaving early? LOL. love, Julia

The lengths you'll go to just to keep me from whining about my migraines.... I hope you're feeling better. Rest up. It may not feel like it now, but that sub-century score is just around the corner. love, tom

Pam,

Thinking of you and wishing you well.

Sandy, Brian, Krista and Megan

Pam I'm so glad you did well with surgery! Keep up the good work. I'm very proud of you. Your family and friends are cheering you on. Love, Jim

Sounds like the surgery went well and maybe now that the fluid is gone, the headaches will subside some. Hang in there. Evie Miller

Pam - Dad, Tina & I made it home last evening without any trouble, and my spouse, children and house are all still intact! Let me know when you want me to come back down there, and I will come either with or without kids (now that we know it can be done), whichever you are up to. I know you can't wait to get back to your dark, quiet, cozy bedroom, but don't try to go home too soon. Love, Kat

Hi, Pammy! We were glad to hear you had a GREAT trip and then flew through surgery. We are thinking about you. Love, Viv and Joe B.

Dear Pam,

So sorry to hear of your surgery, but glad that it went well. Can't believe you are wanting to go home still having headaches. So glad however that you had such a great trip. How come you start feeling so poorly once you get home? Maybe Australia and Hawaii agree with you more? Take heart and do your best. Remember everyone is praying their hardest for you. Love, Susan Ruffini

Pam, Glad to hear you are through the surgery and all major parts are working well!! I will pray for you daily. Tracey

Dear Pam (and Margie, Carl, Barb, Kat, & even Tina). It's now Wed. morning. I'll call down a little later today for the latest report. Westminster Presbyterian Church in Albany is praying for your recovery. I needed back up! Love you all , Mernie

Hi Pam, I am so thankful for Kat's entry! Hooray! Go Girl! I continue to pray for a speedy recovery as spring is coming and I know you will want to be out on the golf course. Keep those toes and fingers wiggling. Love Katie S.

Pam, You were in our thoughts and prayers all day. We were very pleased to find Kat's email letting us all know that the surgery is behind you. Keep fighting. Everyone is pulling for you. Ralph and Ann

Pam, My friend Judy has been following your progress all along. I keep telling her to send her good wishes your way. She doesn't send you any messages because you don't know who she is, but she (like so many others) are praying for you. She wants me to let you know she's in your corner and thinking of you each day. For all the people who send you messages, there are so many more out there hoping & praying for you. Don't let them down...we know you can beat this. We love you. Connie & Marty

3/5 - Pam -- I just left you at the NNICU at UVA, and although you still feel crummy from your operation, you look GREAT! (For a woman who just had her skull cut open and things removed from inside it, that is!) I was so relieved that you can see, hear, move fingers and toes, that you know us and the answers to all questions asked!! And you still seem to have your sense of humor. Keep up the good work! And heal, heal, heal!!! I hope your throat feels better enough tomorrow (from the tube they had down it) that you can tell me what to put in the Journal for your loyal fans to read. Love, Kat

3/5 5:15pm Oh, Pam, I hope the surgery has gone, or is now going, well. Poor baby, this is all just a bit MUCH! We love you, and anxiously await hearing that all went smoothly. Love, Julia

Pam Good Luck! You are so brave. Jim

3 / 5 - Pam, I'm glad you are in the hospital and I am praying for you and the neurosurgeons. May G-d guide them gently and carefully in their work, may He hold you in His hands and protect you. Love, Katie S.

3/5 - Pam, I hope all goes well today. I'm praying for you. Don't give up the fight. Chris M.'s Mom

You are constantly being thought of; you are constantly being prayed for. You are deeply loved. -- number Twelve-Thousand Four Hundred Forty-Seven.

Dear Pam, You are so brave! You are my hero! Prayers are with you from all over the place! Love, Lynn

Pam - Hang in there, and keep fighting! Thinking about you daily! -Chris

Pam: Want to thank you for letting us enjoy your wonderful trip. I felt as though I was there too. I prayed that you would get to complete your trip without any major problems. So Glad things went well. Your are on my prayer list. God Bless, Vivian Kendrick

Hi Pam, I can tell you are exhausted. If not you would have been on the phone to that neuro-surgeon yourself to get some information. Waiting is too painful, then again 'fear' of what you might hear is painful too. I vote to call now to talk to that NS guy and push to know his opinion. If you don't like what he says at least you haven't wasted another day and you can go with a NS second opinion. Tell that guy to .......or get off the pot! "Times awastin' " Love, Katie S (ps, you are in my prayers)

Sounds like a wierd bunch of days. Just do your best to keep the faith and know that so many are with you in thoughts! Meant to call you this weekend, but it never seemed to calm down until past your bedtime (and ours!). We'll buzz ya this week. Love, Ronni, Dave and the boys XOXOX

Hey Pam: Hang in there girl! At least we have the technology to be able to see what is going on inside that head of yours. And, your body is good. So hey - would you rather have a good body or a good head? Don't answer that, I'm just kidding. We're praying for you. Evie Miller, Dallas, Texas

Dear Pam. Been anxiously waiting to hear abour your scans. Body scans sound good, but the brain doesn't sound so good. Your greatest asset is your brain so you should be able to zap that tumor too! Go for it! Thinking and praying for you. Love, Janie

Keep the faith - you will heal and be a mentor for all who are ill - Barb and Russ Godfrey

Hello Pam, We've been anxiously awaiting today's update and are so releived about the body scan. Hope the headaches subside with the new med. We're sure they'll think of something crafty to outwit that nasty tumor!! Our thoughts and prayers are with you!! By the way - still having trouble narrowing in on paint colors... whenever you're ready we'd love ya to come up again.Love Ronni, Dave, and the boys.

Dear Pam, Good news for the rest of your body, but let's pray now that the brain tumor deflates in a hurry. Hang in there and be sure to keep us posted asap. Love, Mernie

Pam, You've been in my prayers all day and I want your scans to be negative! (as I know you do also). I asked Julia if you had anyone here with you as I would have come to just be with you while you were scanned. Thank heavans for wonderful moms!! You continue to be in my prayers and those of all of your wonderful friends and family. Hang in there girl! Love, Katie S

Dear Pam, Prayers that all is going well today (2/28). Welcome back. I am exhausted from all you did these past 6 weeks! Great to see a note from the Harris gang in your book. Love, Mernie

We're thinking of you today, Pam. Know you are in our prayers. cuz tom

just wanted to let you know we are thijnking of you. Declan turned one and Aidan is speaking in paragraphs. WOW Good luck today

Pam - Welcome back to PA/VA. Good luck today! Chris

Hi Pam, we finally have got our internet working properly and I have enjoyed reading your web site. We all had a wonderful night on 6 February when you and Margie came for dinner, it was a pleasure to have the two of you join us and we were sorry to see you go, wish you could have stayed for a few days. Glad the rest of your holiday was great and look forward to keeping informed with how you are going. Give our love to Margie Mernie and Barb Love Rob Sue Michael Megan & Steven Harris

Hey Pam, everyone has been traveling with you...that was quite a trip. Will be thinking of you and your scan results. Gosh, I hope that you get good news.. Keep up the fighting spirit!! Troxie

Pam - I hope you made it home okay, and are not overwhelmed by all of the mail that has come over the past 6 weeks! Mr. Deeg scanned in the 3 sisters picture and I finally put it in the photo album on the website, along with restoring the ones that were lost when the server crashed the other week. Love, Kat

Welcome home! As always, you'll be in our thoughts & prayers on Thursday. lolta- Marcia G

glad you had a safe trip back. will be thinking about and praying for you for thursday

Welcome Home! At least we had some nice weather for your arrival, although it was not as nice as Hawaii (or even Florida...we were there last week). Marty & I are praying for great results for your tests. Love, Connie
