[800] Welcome back Pam and Margie. Back to the real world! Pray that all goes well with your scans on Thursday. Will be thinking of you and waiting for the results in your journal. Love you both, Janie.

[799]  Welcome Home Pam! You are in my prayers. May your scans be negative. Hang in there! Love, KatieS

[798]  Hey Pam: Sounds like you are winding up a terrific trip! I will be thinking about you on the 28th and praying very hard for no new spots. Evie Miller, Dallas, TX

[797]  Sunday - Have a safe trip home. Praying that your scans go well and no new cancer. Keeping you in my prayers. Chris M.'s Mom

[796]  Hi Pam, I got completely caught up on the website here at work, so it must be a good nightshift. We (the ER) got your New Zealand postcard a few days ago... looks like paradise. Looking forward to seeing you again, and want to see some pictures. Love, Julia

[795]  How was your last full day in paradise? I don't envy you the two upcoming flights. But compared to the flight from Australia to Hawaii, they are mere hops! I have good directions to Dulles, and Barb told me where to park to be close to your gate. See you Monday! Love, Kat

[794]  Several days in Hawaii. Aaaaah. And you didn't even need that state! I STILL have 4 to go. -tom

[793]  Pam - Welcome back to the good old USA. Slow golf in Hawaii beats fast golf here, doesn't it? At least that's forcing you to slow down and take it easy a bit! Take care, and enjoy yourself! :) -Chris

[792]  Pam

Welcome home!!! It is so good to have you back in America. However I wish I was laying on the BEACH with you. When is the big HOMECOMING PARTY?

Jim

[791]  Hi Pam, Ahhhh, Hawaii! I wouldn't blame you if you added a week or so to your stay there. You're probably tired from all of your travels. I know I've gained weight and am very fatigued just following you via the net. Sleep until you have had your fill. By the way, I want to know more about your family and friends that have kept in touch via your web site. I feel close to them just by reading your guest book and your journal. When you have the chance, can we have introductions? Maybe I should be asking Kat this question. So when's the big welcome home party?? Katie S.

[790]  PS: How come you didn't put any Australia pics on the website?! Can't wait to see them! Lynn

[789]  Hi, Pam! Welcome back to home turf! It's been pretty springlike here, but it sure ain't Hawaii! Mom was discharged from the hospital yesterday...we chose to ignore the 100.6 temp she had last night after going off all antibiotics cold turkey, and she's still kicking this morning! Here's hoping it's all coasting from here...looking forward to seeing you soon! Love, Lynn

[788]  Dear Pam & Marge, Welcome back to the USofA. I envy you relaxing in Hawaii - even tho it was 51 degrees at 6:15 this morning in Albany! Showers are called for, so golf doesn't fit my schedule :( . Love, Mernie

[787]  Welcome back to the US!! When will you arrive in Sumter? Tammy

[786]  It's nice to have you back in this hemisphere. Nothing like a long exotic holiday except maybe just getting home.Woody's staying with us a few days and says hi. He's back to west Texas tomorrow. A special thanks to Kat and her webmastery. In spite of server probs, she's done a great job to help us keep track of you and your Australian antics (terrorists notwithstanding). Welcome home! love, cuz Tom

[785]  Hi Pam!! Sounds like you had a fantastic trip. Glad to hear you're on your way home, I assume you'll be sleeping for a week to recover from all that travelling. Thanks to you and Barb for the great Harley T-shirt for my hubby - he was surprised. Hope you get back safely. Tracey

[784]  You used to slide down the spillway? Sounds like great fun but I bet you would never get away with that now - too many rules and regs - Enjoy reading your travelogue; Talked with you Dad today and he said you were in Hawaii - safe trip home. Barb and Russ Godfrey

[783]  Pam -- It was awesome to hear your voice! Thanks for calling from Hawaii! Its been over an hour, and I still can't get the grin off my face! As neat as the Internet is, it still doesn't hold a candle to a telephone call. Love, Kat

[782]  Hi, Pam! So glad you are having such fun! Wish I could beam myself to Australia for a while, too! My mom has continued to struggle. I'll spare you the gory details this time, but it's been hard and very discouraging, I must say. The good news is that she looks a bit better today, and her spirits are better. My sibs were all in from PA over the weekend, which was great. We miss you here! Love, Lynn

[781]  Hi Pam! Welcome back to the USA!! I think you land in Honolulu in 9 minutes. Sorry that your website got taken out yesterday. I got all of your Journal entries back in (I have to clean them up a bit), and will work on restoring your guestbook entries, calendars, photos, etc. later today. What a mess!! Your unread emails are probably not recoverable, as the drive that they were stored on is not responding. If people sent you emails since you checked them last, they will need to resend them. The good news is, your site is no longer on the flakey server (because it was destroyed). Love, Kat

[780]  Glad to hear that you're having fun in Australia.  You're right, you should get strokes for your medical condition.  Of course, the winner buys the drinks!

Just returned from a Wilderness Medicine conference in Montana, had a great time skiing and learning more about wilderness medicine.  Off to British Columbia in a few days to go cat skiing.

For me golf season starts late March, or whenever the weather permits.  Have a trip to Myrtle Beach scheduled late April (36holes/day for 3 days).  Hope to get my game in shape to play a few rounds with you.

Dick Rhodes

[779]  Dear Pam,
Hello from the Colville family gathering. We are in our last night, winding down with #2 and family gone, 1 and 3 remain until tomorrow. And quite frankly, without #4 it has not been the same. The kids played card games (mostly Harry Potter) but Sean remarked - no phase10! We couldn't muster up a game without our compteitive inspiration.  And Jason added at dinner that it's not the same without Doc Pam - to which we all agreeded whole-heartedly. As usual one of the kids was under the weather - so we could have used a good doctor. Luckily no one jumped down a flight of stairs.  Catching up and lots of eating. Of course we all had to eat your share.
We haven't picked the week for the summer gathering, but no excuses (even great vacation plans) - you better be here!!
All our Love, LM-Mom and Pops, Colville families #'s 1,2,3.

[778]  Hi Pam and "Mom"
We just got back today from Disney Land, Orlando, Florida.   We had a great week and the conference was pretty good too.  Glad you're finally getting some sun, we didn't have much of the warm sunny stuff this past week, but we had fun anyway.  I really envy you laying out in the warm sunshine by the pool. I enjoyed catching up with your journaling and with your guest book correspondences.   I'll check in again later.  Continue to have a wonderful time!!!!  Katie S.

[777]  Hi Dr.Pam,
I'm enjoying every event from your trip. Thanks for sharing it with all of us.  I hope you and Mom continue to have a safe adventure.
Thoughts and Prayers to you both.  Love, Missy

[776]  That sounds too wonderful for words. Underwater camera or not, I hope you're taking gobs of pictures.

I'm watching the Olympics in Salt Lake City and recall our camping trip through that-a-way TEN YEARS AGO (can't be!). Remember how disappointed our guide was after touring the tabernacle and we still didn't convert. Oh well. Maybe next trip. -cuz Tom

[775]  sounds like all is well.  i am envious of all your adventures .  sounds like this is the trip of a life time.  keep having fun and take care of yourself and your mom
                                            donna johnstone

[774]  Pam -  I hope you bought a disposable underwater camera to get some shots of the Reef!  But, then again, those cameras don't really do the underwater world justice -- the colors don't come out the same.  Maybe you can pick up a few postcard photos that will help you show us how incredible it looked.  We are VERY envious! Love, Scuba Kat & Bob

[773]  Pam, Lou Kramer stopped by my shop today and we started talking about you and all the fun we had playing together in a few golf tournaments, so we thought we would look at your web site and are glad you made your trip to Australia and are doing so well. Sorry we have not been in touch before, where does the time go? Take care and God Bless you and keep in touch My e-mail is Ckram88556 @aol.com  Cliff Krammes and Lou Kramer

[772]  Hi Pam, my Superbowl buddy!  I finally have the time to read your fabulous entries and the responses from such nice people you have met along the way.  I have unfortunately been getting over food poisoning for the last week...dreadful.  Even had a visit to the Emergency room.  In the meantime I have had to keep to my travel schedule in which I spent four days in Melbourne and four days in Port Douglas, North of Cairns.  I visited the Reef two days ago for the first time and I kept saying to myself, "I can't believe I am looking at the Great Barrier Reef!"  It has been such a life-long dream to be on this trip and meeting people like you along the way to share it with has been most memorable.  Glad to hear you are active and competitive with your mom playing golf!  Things slow down up here in the North because of the heat....you may already be here.  I would recommend going in the ocean in the netted areas.  I have been in a number of times and it is exquisite.   Certainly wear the sun suits on the reef trip and put sunblock on even your hands.   I left mine free of block and scorched from my  wirsts up, it looks as though I have gloves on.
I am now making my way to the Whitsunday Islands and have stopped for a night at Mission Beach.  It is lovely but more rustic than I am sure the luxury you have been traveling with!
Take care for now and I look forward to signing on again to hear of your great adventure.   Best wishes, Heather

[771]  Hey, Dr. Pam - Sounds like you are having a great time.  Ronni and the kids went to Mom & Pops today and the place is quite empty and very lonely.  I am joining them tomorrow, but it certainly won't be the same without you there.  We will have a Foster's or two in your honor!  Enjoy the rest of your trip!  Hope to see you soon.  #3 and family

[770]  Greetings!  Are we to assume that you are considering a move??  Checking out the houses "downunder".  IF you DO move, you can be sure that Charlie & I would want to be included on your guest list!  It sounds like your great adventure is continuing beautifully.  Keep taking those photos!  What few I've seen so far are gorgeous.  lolta  Marcia G

[769]  I think you should buy the house.  I'll be there the day you take possession, golf clubs in hand.  Tammy

[768]  Pam
Glad to read your excellent adventure is going so well.  Bring some of the warm weather back with you.  Tonight it'll be 10-degrees F here in Beantown, USA.   It's good to know you caught at least part of the big game a week ago Sunday.   I went to the Superbowl parade last week and it was amazing.  If only the Red Sox...-Drew

[767]  Hi Pam!  ( Mom Too) Not bad weather here, we could sure use some of that rain you're getting. We had the 1 year anniversary at Grace & Glory on Sunday, had 62 people there, we're growing. Your trip sounds great, we're envious. It seems to be going very fast. Enjoy the rest of the time, our prayers are with you both, Love, Barbara and Dick

[766]  Marge & Pam,  Take a dip for me.  We leave 3 wks from tomorrow for St. John!!.  Then I will take some for you both.  Won't be the same there without you, but we will just have to manage.  Have fun.  Does the ball really roll the other way?  I was just trying to be funny.  Love, Mernie

[765]  Sounds like you are having a wonderful time in Australia.  Good for you.  I am about to set off on a spiritual retreat to Haiti.  Going out to the Island of La Gonave to visit the parish that my parish is twinned with.  No one has ever visited them from my parish here in Harrisonburg.  I am really excited.
Bless You. Wil Snuffin

[764]  Glad to see that you are having a great time!  We miss you, but we're following your escapades.  You MIGHT get one stroke when you get back here; while you are getting in all that practice, we're freezing our buns - haven't been able to endure more than 9 holes in the last two weeks.  Love and prayers,

Dick and Claire

[763]  Hi Pam - your hotel down under sounds great - just back from Winnipeg and believe me it was cold, cold.  Minus 40 windchill was common.  And it snowed most days.   Best to you, Sue Chapin

[762]  So, if I have the flu, I shouldn't wash my hands with that antibiotic soap? or is that antibacterial?... it's so hard for a layman to keep it straight. The beach sounds wonderful. My stress is floating away just thinking about it. Sink your toes in the sand for me. love, cuz Tom

[761]  pam that part of the world sounds beautiful todays description of the white squeaky sand made me a tad bit envious of you . yes make sure everyone understands that antibiotics are not for viruses. we sure are seeing a lot of sick people in the e.r.. these days . continue to enjoy your trip and take a dip in the water for me. love barb thimgan .

[760]  Glad you finally got some sunshine.  How about sending the rain here?  Just be sure it lands in PA where we're having a drought.  Make sure it misses Florida.   I'll be down there next week with my sister.  I'm looking forward to some fun in the sun too.  Just for a week though, then it's back to work.  Enjoy the rest of your adventure.  I'm enjoying reading about it.  Love, Connie

[759]  somehow I got cut off. I doon't think I'll ever master this machine. Any way, glad you are feeling well enough to enjoy it all'   Toddie Hamm

[758]  Hi Pammy!

Just so your mother doesn't get any withdrawal symptoms, tell her that tonight is the LMMA meeting. Glad your enjoying the trip so much.  I played at HCC on Sunday.  50 degrees and no wind.  Shot an 85 but remember its winter rules around here and I can roll my ball.  It didn't seem like I shot that well because the ball doesn't go as far as in the summer but you just use a longer club.

Your buddy,

Marty S.

[757]  2/22 - Hi Pam, yes I know you live not too far from me.  Small world!  If you need help with anything when you get home I would be glad to do whatever I can.   Enjoy the rest of your trip.  Keeping you in my prayers.  Chris M.'s Mom

[756]  Hi Marge & Pam - when you play golf down under, does the ball roll the same directions that it does up here??  Or does it tend to roll the other way?  Food for thought.  Enjoy.  Love you, Mernie

[755]  Hi Pam and Marge - your trip sounds great - a little of everything and time for golf too.  Enjoy it while you can - it will still be winter when you get back.   Thinking of you all the time.  No more headaches? Love you, Janie

[754]  Hi, Pam!  Your trip sounds great!  We miss you.  Still praying, too.   Mom was having a surprisingly tolerable week of chemo until the last day, when she developed a 103 degree fever, which has persisted over the weekend.  No bugs found.   On ceftazidime and vanc (strange flashback to my residency hem-onc days!).   Feels like garbage.  Very discouraged.  Keep her in your prayers.   Love you!  Lynn

[753]  2/10 - Hi Pam...off to California on business...fun fun.  I'll miss your entries for the next few days - hope you get to golf...under 100?  Take care, Chris

[752]  Hi Pam
Sounds like you are having a great trip!!  Why did you not play golf on 2/9/02?   I pray for you daily.  Can't wait to see you.
Love
Jim

[751]  HI PAM THIS IS TRACEY RUSH I HAVE BEEN ENJOYING YOUR TRIP NOTES!! SOUNDSLIKE YOU ARE HAVING A GREAT TIME!1 SORRY ABOUT THE RAINY WEATHER BUT SOUNDS LIKE YOU MADE THE BEST OF IT!! YOUR IN MY CONTINUED PRAYERS THAT YOU WILL DO GREAT THE REST OF THE TRIP!! TAKE CARE!!

[750]  Hi Pam and Margie,,
Your trip soiunds just great ...and I am so proud of you, Margie, for making that long flight (at our age). Too bad you are having so much rain, but it doesn't seem to slow you up any.   WHAT FUN.
Janie told you we played golf here a couple weeks ago.   in shirtsleeves.     Crazy weather.
I hope you, Pam, continue to feel good and will be ready for a little golf in Gloucester again this summer.
Thinking of you both.          Ellie Fleet

[749]  Hi Pam,
I am glad "mom" is there and enjoying traveling with you. Like Tammy and her family, I too am going to be away from my computer for a week, and am going to miss reading your journal entries.  I 'second' what Tammy said, No Seizures, no bad boo boo's, and no marriages while I'm away. I will be in Florida doing an EM and Critical care conference in the mornings and playing with my kids in the pool, going to Disney World and meeting up with my Florida friends in the afternoons. Somehow I doubt the food in Florida will hold a match to the meals you have described while in Astraulia, but at least it won't be mac & cheese every night for me.  Continue to have a great time traveling and golfing and eating and exploring the Down Under! I'll check in next week. Love KatieS

[748]  I hope you two are going to surf a few sets at Surfer's Paradise since you're in the neighborhood. Watch for walaby's. I hear they're like armadillos in Texas. - cuz Tom

[747]  Hi Pam - Thinking of you and keeping you in my prayers.  Enjoy the rest of your trip.  Chris M.'s Mom

[746]  Mom, Don't worry, you'll get the hang of it (driving), but I have to warn you, I have to concentrate hard when signalling over here again, and I keep wanting to 'keep left'! Love, B.

[745]  Hi Pam,  I'm at work now, and in a way, it's good to be back.  There was a big banner (made by Marcia-Thank You!) signed by many people.  It was nice to be so missed, but I feel sort of 'left out' now when I read your journal.  I'll get over it when you are golfing, though.  Come on Interested People...write a sentence or two to bring the USA a bit closer to the weary travelers!  I know when I was there, that was so nice to know people thought about us.  Love you!  Barb

[744]  Dear Pam,  We are leaving today for Snowshoe for our own version of the Winter Olympics.  My events include the Marathon Drive (8 hours, finishing after dark in mountains) and the Equipment Rental Hurdles.  Not a lot of skill required, but tremendous endurance needed.  Tim has the skill-requiring event, the race to the empty table in the crowded cafeteria while balancing lunch for four on a tray and wearing ski boots.  The boys, of course, will be taking part in downhill racing as we chase them frantically, trying not to lose sight of them.  It's going to be a ball!!   But, we will be without internet access for five days, so a few rules for you. (1) No seizures.  (2) No accidents requiring more than a band-aid.  (3) No marrying toothless men.  Continue to have fun, and I'll check back in next week.  Love, Tammy

[743]  Hi, Pam & "Mom".  I hope you two are taking lots of pictures!   All of us who are living vicariously through you will want to see everything- all the hills, deserts, lakes, oceans- everything!   Barb, Welcome home!  We're glad you made it back safe & sound, even if you're not on York County time yet.   lolta Marcia G

[742]  Dr. Pam:  So good to read that you are having an elegant time in the land "down under".  You wrote 213mm. of rain, about a fifth of a meter, that's about 7-8 inches of rain based on a 39.36" meter.  That's a lot of water in so short a time.  We're in a drought situation here.  We saw a recent clip on Channel 29 on late clinicals melanoma vaccine trials.  Any chance of compassionate care entry?  If you haven't heard about it, I would try to work with Colvilles' to attempt retrieval.  Love, Frank/Joan Sola

[741]  Dear Pam & Marge,  Can't find my last entry.  I must have hit a wrong key.  I think it was the one where I told you to be sure to say hello to the Harris family for me.  They really are a great gang.  Hope you took pictures of them.   We Super Bowled at Emily's.  Yeah Patriots!  What a game!
Pam, I sympathize with the headaches.  Yours are probably worse than mine, but I still get 2 or 3 per day.  Take care of yourselves.   Love, Mernie

[740]  Hi Pam -- we were typing at the same time yesterday -- you submitted your Journal entry just 35 seconds before I submitted my guestbook entry!  Pretty cool.  It is almost like our fingers could touch through the keys!  I hope your headache has gone away, and that the rain will clear up soon.  Love, Kat (Hi Mom!)

[739]  Just read through your entries and those written to you... has it been that long since I wrote! Well, it's darn cold up here and though rain is somewhat gloomy, it's Australian rain so it can't be too bad.
Everyone seems to be getting over strep and what-not. We finally finished the kitchen (even put up some do-da's). It looks awesome, but I miss seeing your scribble on the wall. As for superbowl, we had our anual party and if you'd like to try a different Colville party come-on up here next year! Lots of food! Love reading about your adventures, but must insist that you take it a bit easier! We'll miss you at Mom and Pops next week. Will update you as the weekend progresses. Love to you! Ronni and the gang

[738]  I Made It Home by 11 pm.  My sweety found me at Dulles after very uneventful flights, and it was good to sleep in my own bed, although I was not in the 'sleep' mode when I got home.  See your e-mail, Pam, for details.  Love, Barb

[737]  Hello, down there!  Rain is better than raging wildfires.  Are you still on decadron?  I would recommend that you not taper it if that's what you've been doing.   In fact, with no images to look at and no oncology background to speak of, I'd even tell you to increase it.  But what do I know?  Hope you don't mind the unsolicited long distance medical advice.  Love, Tammy

[736]  Dear Pam,

Glad your having fun in Australia.  We miss you terribly.  Hope you have a good umbrella.  Patty & I  were just sitting here thinking about playing a game of cards & wishing you were here.  No patients on the board @ 0523. Is that a miracle or what.  Oh darn, so much for that just had a chart print.  Gotta go for now.  God bless.  Can't wait to see pictures when you get back.
                        love,
                        Windy & Patty

[735]  Hi Pam, hi Aunt Margie. Bob (W) is intrigued by your doings in Sydney. He spent 2 months there for EDS back in '97. Hanging on every quay... err key... er whatever. Hope the rain has stopped. At least it's raining on you -- in Australia. It's snowing on us in Dallas. We must have 70 mm since this morning. (If we had the metric system, all the schools would be closed tomorrow). Have fun you too. love, cuz Tom.

[734]  Well, now that Mom is over there getting her Journal entries first-hand, nobody is writing in the guestbook again.  She did a good job whipping the silent readers in shape -- they didn't want to be responsible for a mother missing out on her daughter's communications.  I hope Mom keeps you writing for my sake, too, though.  Love, Kat

[733]  2/4/02 Hi Pam - Glad your mom arrived safe and sound...I must admit, it was a good game, and the Pats deserved it - and trust me, you didn't miss much in the way of commercials.  Only a handful of them were really that good.  Safe travels to Barb, and enjoy Sydney!   - Chris

[732]  Hi Pam, Barb, and now, Mom!  It is 4:30 pm Sunday here, so Mom has already landed in Sydney, and is probably getting her luggage.  I hope her flight went well.   And I hope your flight goes well tomorrow, Barb!  Call me Wednesday, once you are back.  We miss you all.  Love, Kat, Bob, David & Andrew

[731]  Continuing to live your vacation vicariously...can it be half over already??  Mom goes back in for her last week of chemo  tomorrow, and is a nervous wreck.  But she managed to drive herself to all her radiation appts and even went shopping with Bruce and me yesterday!!  Bruce is bummed, because 2 houses he liked have been sold before he could get his contract in.  Keep having fun, and give my love to your mother...Lynn

[730]  Hi Pam,
Now, it's time to slow down, catch more sunsets, play some golf, and sleep in late.  Your stress level,(zooming here to there, exerting more energy that you normally do, which I didn't think was possible, and drinking alot) will decrease your seizure threshhold, you know that.  Don't scare yourself and us. I for one am looking forward to your welcome home party and a chance to see all of your pictures! I'm glad Mom is coming out there, or down there, to slow the pace a bit.  I know Barb is having a blast with you but, is she looking a bit "sallow around the gills" yet?  I have to collapse into the bed for a rest after I read your journal!!  Now...Sing along with me.."Slow down, you move to fast,  You've got to make the moment last, just skipping along in the down and under......someone else will have to finish this, I never was good with poetry. (you get my point?)
Continue to enjoy your trip, on a more relaxing pace, we will all be in touch.  Love, Katie S

[729]  Here's my sightseeing tip for the day.  Since you are down near the Rocks area in Sydney, make sure you have lunch or dinner at one of the 'hotels' there.  (They call them hotels but they are really just restaurants.)  You go in and chose your steaks from the meat counter and grill it out on the 'barbee' while making your salad and sipping on your wine.  A great way to have a meal!

Al & Lou

[728]  All packed and ready to go.  Got your advice about the taxi rather than shuttle to the hotel.  My sleep schedule will probably be very different from yours.  We can take turns with the beds.  See you in ? hours.  Love you lots.  Mom

[727]  Hi Pam!  Maybe I should put a link on the site so that YOU can tell what time it is HERE!  Your entry hit at 5:36 am on 2/2, so it is/was Groundhog Day here as well.   (I haven't heard if he saw his shadow or not.)  Of course, since it is now after 8:00 am here, you are already into the 3rd over there.  Remember -- subtract 16 hours from your time, to get ours.  I have received several email replies from you and from Barb, so I guess I'm getting them all.  :)  And David & Andrew got the postcard you sent to the house -- very cute!  David says that he wants to get a postcard from Ahmma when she is in Australia as well.  We are glad to hear that you are feeling okay, and that you went to Sydney early.  I got a few calls from some of those silent readers who wanted the inside scoop on the Ayres Rock seizure.  Larry thought that the date that showed in the Journal was your date, not ours, so he thought it had been DAYS without a Journal entry.  He will be happy to see your latest.   Love, Kat

[726]  Hey, it's great to hear from you again.  I thought I was going to have to wire money to pay for internet access!  Have fun with your mom!  And just think, no more Harley shops!  : )  Love, Tammy

[725]  Hi Pam & Barb,
It's 7:00 p.m. Friday the 1st and I am almost done packing.   I can't believe I'll be there in 2 days.  Hope there aren't any snags with the traveling.  Very, very excited.  I love you.  Mom

[724]  2/1/02 G'Day, Pam - welcome to February -  although I guess you got there a little sooner than us.  Kangaroo suasage?  GROSS - did you hop around alot after eating it?  Or maybe you'll grow a pouch?  I hope you are feeling better - I have always read that camel rides and wine are a bad combination - now I know that its true!

Are you planning to watch the Superbowl down under?  I hope the Rams avenge the [pathetic] Dolphins' December loss to NE by blowing them away...and I think that they will.

PA weather update - several record highs hit this week, we even got close to 70 one day, and today our high was mid-60's, but a front is coming through tonite and bringing with it 50-mph gusts and a high of only 40 tomorrow.  Go figure.

Take it EASY and be careful...you are in my prayers daily!  Enjoy yourself and be safe!  - Chris M.

[723]  2/1/02 Hi Pam and Barb: I love hearing from you.  No Pam, I won't give you any strokes. We played in our shirt sleeves this week. Nothing much going on. I leave for California on the 14th and stay a week. Margie and I are going out to visit a brother and his family. We miss you but before we know it you will be back. Love and prayers. Joan

[722]  Dr. Stewart and I went to the UVA/MD game last night -- how exciting.  Chris was happy with the win for MD.

Please take good care!!!!! -- we continue to pray for you.

Today, it is in the 70's -- is it really February 1st?

I can't believe that three weeks is about over for your trip.  Tell you mom Phyllis and I say hello.  Does Barb have enough room in her suitcase for all the t-shirts with those motorcycles on them????
See you soon.

Pastor and Phyllis

[721]  Hi Pam and Barb,  No more seisures, please!  Take it easy.  Sounds like you are doing more in 3 weeks than I do 3 years - but there is a difference in age!   Maybe your Mom will slow you down.  You have missed some great weather here in the East.  Played golf at Bass Rocks yesterday  - temp in the 60's.  What a great month this has been!  It is all over now - snowing with a couple inches on the ground.  Thinking of you.  Wish we were there. [720]  Hi Pam, Got the postcard from New Zealand yesterday, A nice surprise. Sounds wonderful, but ..... take it easy, ha! ha! Will take the card to church on Sunday. We expect a group of 28 visitors from Peace , should be fun. Everyone is praying for you. Love, Barbara and Dick

[719]  Hi, Pam!  Glad you made it down from the climb...was it better or worse than the time Rick Stouffer and John Brinley had to carry you down from Old Rag?  The kids and I were excited to get your postcard yesterday...New Zealand looks spectacular!  We're still praying for you every night.  Love you!  Lynn

[718]  Hang in there kid.  Bob and I have been delighted at the great time you've been having on your trip so don't give up.  Maybe take it a little easier occasionally.   We're praying for you.  Love, Susan and Bob Ruffini

[717]  Dear Pam,
I'm so sorry to hear about your seizure. Tell Barb to stop pushing you so hard-Ha! Ha! She told me she wouldn't be able to hold you down. It sounds like you guys are having a great trip. Hope the rest of your trip goes well. Think of both of you often.

[716]  Hi Pam and Barb,
Thanks for your telephone call this morning telling me not to worry when I read the Journal entry.  It was wonderful hearing your cheerful voices.   Hope the weather isn't as hot for you today and that you get plenty of rest.   Our warm weather is supposed to get cold tomorrow.  It was nice while it lasted.  Do you suppose the Mary, Curt, Tom, and Sue from Indianapolis really went to school with cuz Tom, or is he pulling our chain?  How would he know what Mary, Curt, Tom and Sue you were talking about without last names unless they were items in High School and very close friends?  It will be interesting to find out if they knew him or either of his sisters, or your aunt and uncle.  We have buyers for more of our acreage and two of our lots, and they aren't even on the market yet.  Things will have to be on hold for three weeks while I am away.
Please take it easy and be nice and rested when I get there.   I'll try to sleep on the plane, but will still want to go slow on Tuesday.
     Lots of love,   Mom

[715]  Ouch! 104 degrees F!  No wonder they closed the rock.  I went to bed last night before the Journal entry was posted, and awoke several times during the night to a bunch of what-if thoughts about you having another seizure.  How weird.  I'm glad to hear that it was relatively mild, and that you are back at the hotel for some R&R.  Who cares about the cost of Internet access -- it is all relative -- it beats the cost of a bunch of international calls home, doesn't it?  I'll chip in for it.  And I can fix your typos for you.  Love, Kat

[714]  What are the odds. I can't believe you ran in to Mary, Curt, Tom and Sue. Be sure and say hi.We all went to Broad Ripple. They'll tell ya. Sorry you ran into trouble on the climb. I would love to see Ayers rock's colors someday. Enjoy the rest of the trip, you two. love, cuz tom

[713]  Hi Pam-
It's Stacy Parker.  I just figured out how to find your web page (with lots of help from Tim & Tammy).  I guess by now you have figured out I am computer illiterate!!!  Hope you're having a great time on your trip.  I am praying for you every day.  Take care and come visit us soon.  I've got a great new bottle of Chard. for the three of us to try out on the front porch swing! 1/30/02

[712]  Hi Pam and Barb!

Glad you're having such a great trip. sorry you missed the 70's show. I hope you post tons of pictures on the web site when you get them developed. Continue to have a great time!   Tracey

[711]  Dear Barb & Pam,  Weather has been so mild up here that we would have played golf Monday if we hadn't had dermatologist appts. in the middle of the afternoon.  He zapped a whole bunch of moles & the thing on my leg that hasn't healed in several years.  Tuesday was great, too, but we were in the car all day :(.  Had to check the mail at The Farm. )Back today in the rain and tomorrow promises to be winter again in upstate NY.  Going to Emily's Sunday  (after church, so we can get our prayers in for you)  to cheer for the Patriots in the Super Bowl.  Think we better pray for the Patriots, too.  Enjoy yourselves.  Love, Mernie

[710]  Pam - ever since my son, Chris M. told me about your trip I've been following your journal.  Enjoy, enjoy!  Will keep you in my prayers.  Chris M.'s Mom

[709]  i say go for the painting--who else would have an aboriginal artwork

[707]  Dear Pam,
Hello, from one of your long lost skiing buddies!  I have been following your journal with great interest and the sincerest of hopes for your recovery!  I remember in Park City not the most skillful of skiers, but certainly one who didn't shy away from the challenge placed before by her other compadres.  Though frequently down the hill last, the end result was the same.  YOU MADE IT!  If there was ever an individual born to overcome your current challenge, I can think of no one better to attack it with the vigor we know you possess.  I hope you have a most pleasant vacation in Australia and watch for the "roos", I hear they punch pretty hard!  Your friend and skiing buddy, Cheryl Goodman

[706]  I say you should get the artwork, unless you've already moved on to the next town and it's too late.  I bet the guy with the four teeth would have bought it for you.

I can't wait to see the pictures you're taking.  It sounds like a wonderful trip and you're having an awesome time!!!  Oops...there's that word again.

Love, Connie

[705]  Hi again.  Just wanted to let you know -- Andy's red spots were caused by a reaction to his MMR shot (not anything to worry about), and his fever is due to .... an EAR INFECTION!  Aargh!  This is his 3rd.  I started him on the Amoxicillin, and hopefully he will be back to his happy self sometime tomorrow.  Poor little guy!   Love, Kat
P.S.  I got both of your New Zealand postcards today! :)

[703]  Hi Pammy,

Been a bit of a Zoo around here but I have been wondering how you are enjoying the down under so I had to find out for myself instead of relying on Connie and I signed on. Think of you several times a week. Sounds like you are enjoying all but the Harley Shops.   Hey -remember, you have to take the whole package.

Have a great time!

Marty

[702]  Pam,
Glad to hear your doing so well.  I don't know if
I could go at that pace.  Sumter misses you.  We
may actually play golf Thurs.  It will be a lesson in
humility since the last time we played was when you were here.  Oh well,   nothing like a good laugh
at yourself to start a day.  Continue to have a great
time.        Nina

[701]  Hi Pam & Barb!  I just got back from David's second violin lesson.  He bawled when he found out he STILL can't use the bow and violin together (that is next week, supposedly).  The poor guy.  He wants to play so badly (and he will play badly -- ha ha !! -- or is it poorly?).  It is easy for the teacher to say -- she doesn't have to try to fill a half an hour a day with nothing but bow holds, foot position, and now, violin holds.  Or then again, she probably does.  That doesn't stop us from making a little bit of screaching at home, though, because I'm a softie.  I'm probably delaying his first public concert by a few weeks by teaching him bad technique -- a small price to pay for his cooperation at practice time!  I set up a sick visit for Andy, because he has a rash, fever, and reactive node.  Good thing Mom didn't come yesterday!  Love, Kat
