[700]  Hi, Pam and Barb!   The full moon was spectacular here.   It's weird to think that you are so far away and looking at the same moon!  My mom  is starting to lose her hair now, and is feeling kinda lousy.  In solidarity with you baldies, I got a really bad short haircut yesterday.  OK, actually an attempt at a cute short haircut went awry, but I do sympathize with the hairless thing a bit more today!  I had a great workout on your new elliptical excercise machine on Sunday.  You'll be  happy to know that Lou is being an excellent watchdog...she came   over to check on your place because she didn't recognize the Corolla.  Well gotta  go...I have 5 kids today (mine and Dana's).   Miss you!  Lynn

[699]  Hi Pam,
I say "Go for the painting!"  It's not like you will get another chance to do it.  Hope Barb found her Harley Shop and got her 7 billionth tee shirt.  She'll have to put an addition on her house to hold all the Harley shirts and things.  Looking forward to hearing about the camel ride.   Hope you got pictures.  Speaking of pictures, are you getting any of them developed over there, or must I wait till we get home to see them?  Had my hair cut yesterday - now it's not much longer than yours was when you left home.  Drew the line at having it shaved off, though.  Finally wrote to the Harrises and told them we will call them on the 4th.
     Love you both,  Mom

[698]  Greetings!  Are you two keeping a map with all your trails marked?   I think Charlie really wants to see the Land Down Under now!  (Thanks!)   Continue having a grand time. ( Note to Mom B.- As for film, take 10 more rolls than you think you'll use!  That's what I do!)  Really, I'm just anxious to see lots of photos!  lolta-Marcia G

[697]  hey pam i was wondering if you are having trouble distinguiching between the men and women over there? remember the movie crockadile dundee ?the bar scene where he had to check and see if he was talking to a man or woman?(my favorite part),just wondering if you have seen any goodlooking men (besides the cutey without the teeth). have  fun and be safe over there. i was always told that women are more beautiful without hair and that if you wear mascara and a little shadow to bring out your big dark eyes and fix an attractive scarf you will see what i am talking about... love barb thimgan(carlisle hospital)

[696]  Pam, So glad to heat that you are enjoying your adventure.  We look forward to seeing you when you get back.  Rich and Elaine Bernstein

[695]  Dear Pam--We have been following your progress
on your website/journal.  How wonderful you
could go on that fantastic trip!  Hope you are having
a ball!  You have been in our thoughts and prayers
every day.  Good luck.   The Bishop Family: Les &
Peggy, HL, Margaret and Bill.

[694]  Hi Pam and Barb,
Kat gave me the day off today because they are all sick and I don't want to catch it right before I leave.  Unfortunately I left my camera at her house when I was there on Friday so will have to go up briefly one day this week to get it.  There is no way I would leave for three weeks in Australia without my camera and plenty of film.  Today I hope to get my hair cut (it's starting to get unruly) and finally get my eyes examined and get new glasses.  I'm on a 5 day countdown;   getting excited.  See you in a week.  Loads of love,   Mom

[693]  Hi Ladies,
It sounds like you are having a nice trip. The weather here is extremely nice. Barb, there are bikes out everywhere. Every time I see one, I think of you. Enjoy and take advantage of everything! Wish I was there.

                                   Dar Jones

[692]  1/27/02:    Hello Pam & Barb.  I just logged on in sunny Clearwater, Florida, and thought I would say hello.  Even though we are on vacation here, it sure doesn't feel like it after reading all the neat stuff you guys are doing!  Sounds like you're having a blast 'down under'.  Jerry and I are heading back to PA tomorrow morning.  Don't know how security was for you guys, but Jerry had to remove his boots at the scanner at BWI!  No big deal.........we'd all rather be safe!!  Have a wonderful time!  Jerry and Shelly Rodgers

[691]  Hi Pam, Barb too!! Your journal is fascinating reading, what a wonderfull experience. Weather here is beautiful today, Sun, hit 75 in the sun this noon. I don't know if Australia will be the same when you leave. All of your lamb sounds delicious, you'll have to bring us a new recipe to try. Continue your wonderful trip , think of you every day and keep you in our prayers. Love, Barbara and Dick

[690]  And yet another guilty plea.... I did send you an e-mail, but apparently you aren't getting those regularly.  I'm enjoying your great adventure, although some days it makes me tired just to read everything you are doing!  You must be feeling well in order to maintain your current pace!  Continue to have a wonderful time!   Love, Tammy

[689]  Of course we've been reading about your adventure - we have to live vicariously through your adventure cuz it sure ain't no party here. Dave strained his back, Jas got a bad cold, Matt had an allergic reaction (unknown origin so far), then got strep, and then had Jas tested and he got strep. Sean and I are holding out. (but he's already showing signs of coughing and runny nose)... So you really want to hear from us? Well, it's no vacation here. In between doctor appointments we are working on wallpaper and paint. We miss you and hope you'll come for another visit in March. Keep up the entries!
Love, Ronni Dave - Sean, Jason, and Matthew

[688]  Yep, I'm guilty too!  Been reading your journal regularly and keeping up with your trip, but haven't commented.  Think of you two often and would love to be tagging along.  Don't think I could keep up the pace though. It is warming up a bit here in Mass. so think we will go out and play some golf today - haven't played since the weather turned cold in mid December. Will have to catch the Patriots vs the Steelers game today to see which one will go to the Super Bowl - PA or MA.  Love to you Pam and Barb,  Janie

[687]  WOW....What a wonderful trip the two PA girls are having.   I bet you come back with some of those little creatures (maybe even a zoo) and lots of Harley tee shirts.  Take care and we keep both of you in our prayers.

Love,
Pastor Bill and Phyllis

[686]  Yes!  We're here, reading about your Great Adventure every day!   One question that I haven't seen asked yet- have you checked the water flowing down the drain?  Keep taking those photos!  lolta- Marcia G

[685]  So is there a prize for number 10,000 with each counter? Ann in FL said she thought she was it on the main page (she apparently didn't claim it by writing in the guest comments). I think you should award a live wallaby for one and a live koala for the other... just beware of live fawns. I'm picturing you stuffing them into your carry-on luggage. Bob raves about his voyage on the Bounty in Sydney Harbour. They also do tours that climb to the top of the Harbour Bridge. If they only included bungy jumping off it would be perfect. Have fun. -cuz Tom

[684]  I was # 10,000. I was afraid to say anything because I thought the door prize might be Pam's toothless suiter in Austraillia. As there are several claims to #10,000, we will just have to share (him?;-)). Ann Stambaugh

[683]  Pam & Barb -- did you get the email that I sent to your hotel?   They took 2 days to get back to me as to where to send it for them to print it & deliver it to a guest, so I'm wondering if they will get around to delivering it to you while you are still there.  Let me know.  Love, Kat

[682]  Sounds like you're having a blast.  I was kidding myself to think I had a chance at 10,000; oh well.  Do they really eat Skippy burgers over there?   Take care.  Drew.

[681]  Dear Barb/Pam,  I too am guilty.  I read daily but don't have too much to say.  I study maps to see where you are (Yeah, Jennifer Capriati!) and pray that you both come home happy and healthy.  I would love to be with you, but don't think I could keep the long hours.  Enjoy.  Love Mernie

[680]  Guilty.  I've been reading the entries but not submitting any.  I have been following the news in New Zealand and Australia since Pam/Barb left on their trip.  I even watched a bit of the Australian Open and I don't even like tennis.   In any event, I enjoy my free subscription to this publication, and am happy to submit a guest book entry.  Your Loyal Reader, Bob

[679]  Hey, Guests,
Pam is breaking her butt every day or so to keep us informed on her progress and what they are doing "Down Under".  The least we can do is to write to them and let them know we are reading.  They can read the count on the hits.  Who are all you silent readers but not writers?  It must be very disappointing for her to not get any feedback.  C'mon, write already!  Mom

[678]  Dear Pam and Barb,
Sounds like you had a very interesting but tiring day yesterday.   Please don't try to overdo it.  Let poor Barb get some rest.  Just kidding - Pam, you shouldn't try to pack too much into a single day.  Stop to smell the roses.  Love you lots,  Mom

[677]  Pam/Barb:
Don't know if you are checking this guest book or your email, but I wanted to try to get this message to you.
I've been trying to get in touch with a friend of mine, who recently emmigrated back to Australia from the US.  Her name is Leanne Wahl.  I finally tracked her down and if you are going anywhere near Gympie (near Noosa), which I think is near Queensland, you are welcome to look her up.  Here is her e mail and cell phone -
clajdt@bigpond.com, is 0439 722-400    Evie Miller

[676]  Pam,

Hugs, Kisses, Warmest Regards, Smiles ear to ear with teeth slightly showing, embraces, hands entwined, respect and admiration, love and even more love. You are my ER hero, a ray of light, and a friend.

Peter Bower

[675]  Pam,
Hope all is well down under.
Thinking of you.
Richard, Ann, and Joseph

[674] Pam

Sounds like you are having a GREAT time! Wish I was there. I am sure you are a very pretty MANGEY MUTT.

Fish

[673] Sounds like you are having a wonderful trip - ENJOY IT!!! Chris M.

[672] No, you have to hit Refresh! It is really at 10006 now. I think you has a legitimate 10,000, Tracey. - Kat

[671] Must be a joke! I logged off and logged back on again and it still says 10,000. Tracey

[670] Hi Pam and Barb, Wow!! Sounds as if you are having a great time. I’m envious. Kris and I had planned a trip to Australia many years ago - he wanted to rent a Harley and tour the country by motorcycle – we had a baby instead. By the time we can get away from the kids for 2 or 3 weeks, I’ll be too old to even get on a Harley.

I logged on this morning, January 22, and the counter says 10,000 - is this a joke? Maybe Kat froze the counter after you hit 10,000. I haven’t logged on in a week so I wasn’t even aware that you were getting close. Congratulations - just think of all those people who are checking up on you and supporting you and saying prayers for you. My church started a 50 day ‘prayer venture’ recently - a commitment to pray for 30 minutes each day - you are in my prayers nightly.

I’m glad you guys are having such a fabulous time. The daily updates are wonderful! Enjoy. Tracey

[669] Jan 22-It’s 8:15 am, and I’m #9997. Can I at least get a "third runner up" mention??;+) Sounds like you’re having a fabulous time! Just wanted to let you know that I’m keeping everyone at work posted, Barb, Kathy F. says HI! Take care, and take lots more pictures, lolta Marcia G

[668] Wow, looks like I’m number 9999 on the journal page. I, too, have taken to going straight to the journal page instead of the home page since Kat started the counter on the journal page. Good luck to #10,000. So, I guess you’ll look more like a billiard ball then a mangy mutt by the time I get there. Love you both, Mom

[667] Well, I for one was relieved you shot so poorly. If you had broken 100 in your first golf game Down Under, you’d probably be making plans to move there. We’ll just have to remind you of all the Super-Sized # 3 Meals waiting for you upon your return. Have fun you two! Love, cuz Tom

[666] Pam - Trip sounds exciting. Even though it was long ago, I still remember the smell in Rotorura vividly. Make sure that you get to Bondi Beach when you get to Sydney. Hope the golf game improves. Other then shoveling snow, all is well in PA. Later - #2 and family.

[665] Pam - I thought of you today when David announced that his hair was falling out. He went on to say, "Well, it’s not really falling out....It’s just loose." Maybe yours is just loose, too. Love, Kat

[664] I can’t believe all of the things you have accomplished already! Sounds like a fantastic adventure. I’m glad to see Barb is negotiating on the left side of the road and got her Harley t-shirt. This snow is melting already but it is still beautiful out there. It was nice a airy and not heavy to shovel. Good luck on the rest of your trip. Lynn Hartman

[663] Hi Pam and Barb, What a thrill to hear of your golfing in New Zealand - and the fact that you walked 18 holes puts my mind at ease that you are probably feeling pretty fit. How’s the hair doing? Haven’t heard tales yet that it’s coming out in heaps. Vicki told me that the guy in LA who booked your Qantas Travel is responsible for the sleeping arrangements. I bet if it were two brothers (no pun intended) traveling together he wouldn’t have them in one bed. Hopefully it will be better at the rest of the places you’re booked. I was psyched to see your note from Nancy (Gasway) the classmate of mine from Smith. I had only told two Smithies about you. I guess Dana spread the word of your website. Lots of love to you both. Mom The snow this time was only about 3 inches up here but they may have more in VA.

[662] 9900 on the Journal hit counter! Did you ever figure out what the 10,000 prize should be? We are getting close! Maybe a bottle of sunscreen from Australia. Love, Kat

[661] prayers for comfort in dealing with you disease. Enjoy your travels. I’m a smith classmate/zoo major of your mom. I’ll follow your journal. Nancy Gasway malmon - minetonka, mn/scottsdale, az

[660] Wow! We had a scare. Bob was watching CNN and saw the news ticker go across the bottom, saying something about tourists being killed in a plane crash in Southern New Zealand. This was shortly after I told him that you guys were flying from Queensland to Christchurch today. We quickly hopped on the Internet and found out that the crash was a sightseeing plane, yesterday, on its way to Milford Sound. A very tragic story. Since you put in a Journal entry at the crack of dawn today, we knew that you went to Milford Sound by coach, not by plane. Thank you for your daily updates!! Love, Kat, Bob & the boys

[659] 1/19/02 Dear Pam and Barb: It is so wonderful to hear from you. Your trip sounds delightful. We had snow today, only about 3 inches but enough to cancel a few things. Glad you feel okay Pam and hope you continue to do so but don’t forget you need rest too. Love and prayers and I miss you. Joan

[658] Hi, Pam & Barb! I just got home from work -yes, it IS snowing - but I had no problems. (Thanks, Charlie, for the new tires!) Your trip sounds go great so far, and it will just get better! You’d better be taking loads of pictures! And eat some lamb for me, okay? Thinking of you! Lolta Marcia G

[657] Hi, Pam! Your trip sounds like it would exhaust the healthiest of us! I’m so proud of you (and Barb...I would be a menace trying to drive on the left side of the read!) It’s snowy here today. I’m planning to stay in my jammies all day! Talk to you soon! Love, Lynn

[656] Hi Pam, I am so excited and envious of your trip. It sounds like you are having a blast! Your must stop telling us about all of the wonderful dinners you are enjoying because I’m gaining weight just reading about them! I’m doing what your friend Drew is doing, saving for the kid’s college, so I too can travel in the future, say about 20 years from now. Until the I just sit back and enjoy YOUR trip now!! You sound great! Katie S.

[655] Hi Pam and Barb, Your trip sounds fabulous so far. Too bad I couldn’t have gone for the whole thing instead of just the last three weeks, repeating some of the places and sights I had seen in 1985. Oh, well, maybe I can "do" New Zealand some other time, or live vicariously through your scads of pictures. Speaking of pictures, the one of the three of you hugging on the hearth came out so well I plan to have lots of reprints made. Vicki asked me to send her one, which I will do, since she did such a super job making all our travel arrangements. Loads of love, Mom

[654] Hi Pam! How was Milford Sound? Is it still raining? The New Zealander mom from the Harrisburg Academy says it has been really rainy and unseasonably cold there this year; is it still raining? Or is it wonderful regardless of the weather? The Aussie mom says just the opposite of Australia - - it has been very hot & dry (especially with the fires, no doubt!). My Closing for Tuesday just got postponed AGAIN, for Friday (who knows what day it will be there!), so my Tuesday had become more manageable again. Now I don’t have to be stressed out during David’s first violin lesson, worrying that I need to be at the office instead. Speaking of which, David wants a bath RIGHT NOW, so I gotta go. I love you. And Barb, too, of course. Mom’s pictures from your place came out GREAT!! I can’t wait for you to see them. Love, Kat

[653] Pam Tigger is in tow and ready to be delivered. The snow globe count is now up to two rather than just one. The small stuffed tigger is resting peacefully, eagerly awaiting your return. I’m spreading the word about Pebble Beach - it’ll be interesting to see if we have any takers when it’s show time. All I know is that I am still going, and we’re gonna have one hell of a good time. Take care and see you soon. EP

[652] Hello Pam, the night shift is thinking of you at 3:27am Fri. am (even if you think it’s really midafternoon where you are.) With me this fine night are: Sam, Micah, Susie, Patty, Gary, and Treacy. There are NO patients here for the moment, and we just had the satisfaction of treating the emergent corneal abrasion. Sam says, he misses you, and now he must resort to calling *me* the Angel from Hell. The coffee is overdone, and the night drags on. Miss it? I thought so... love, Julia and the gang

[651] Pam - Congrats on your trip. I’ve always wanted to do the same. I’m aggressively funding the kids’ college funds so they have no excuses about leaving the house so Cathleen and I can travel again someday. Only seventeen more years to go. Enjoy the trip. -Drew

[650] Pam - - I find it suspicious that right before you were scheduled to land, the news reported that all of the McDonald’s in Australia were ordered to be closed due to a white power incident... But I think that Tom’s terrorist fears are unfounded - - it is too hard to figure out what time or day it is there. The Australians & New Zealanders here report that the food at the McDonald’s over there tastes much differently than ours anyway (different bread, different oil, etc.). Oh, well, I guess you will have to continue eating at fine seafood restaurants instead. Love, Kat.

[649] I’m a little concerned that Kat put your schedule for your trip on the calendar. Now terrorists will be able to track your every move... hmmm, Kat’s pretty sharp... she may have deliberately put false information down... I’ll shut up now. Enjoy yourselves. Love, cuz Tom

[648] Reading your journal entry, despite the minor difficulties you encountered, made me really excited and envious about your trip!! Have a fantastic time! Keep us posted whenever you can. Love, Tammy

[647] Hello Barb & Pam! Glad to see you arrived safe, and that things went relatively well. At least you had each other to complain to during your three hour wait at the airport! Have fun! Shelly Rodgers

[646] Dear Pam and Barb, What a joy to find your journal entry this morning and know you arrived in New Zealand safe and sound. I was afraid you were not going to be able to have access to a computer till you got to Tony’s next month. Not much going on around here. We are waiting for Finch’s to come pick up the Bobcat to give it a thorough servicing before the next snowstorm. I hope you will continue to have access to computers so we can know what’s happening. If no, please don’t be afraid to use my AT&T calling card. Don’t worry about the time difference. A phone call from you at any time of day or night will be very welcome. Love you both. Mom

[645] Pam & Barb - - according to my calculations, you landed in Auckland, NZ half an hour ago or so (at 12:40 our time), so you are now probably waiting for your luggage to come sliding down the belt (if they do it that way down under). I’m wondering where over the Pacific you lost your hair, Pam, if you in fact lost it by now. (I don’t think that Barb lost hers, although I guess a flight that long could cause you to pull your hair out.) If so, it was a new twist on that annoying Herbal Essences commercial, where the woman shampoos her hair on a train - - instead, you removed all of your hair on a plane. I hope all goes well at the airport & hotel check-in, and you can both shower/bathe, an sleep some more in BEDS! Love, Kat.

[644] pam. There was such a peaceful feeling about you when you were in the carlisle ed the other day. Although no one would wish this on themselves or anyone else it seems as though you have the strength, and support from God, family and friends to meet this head on. I am sure this has been a heck of a life changing experience and it has changed you dramatically. Just when each of us wishes we could help you, you have helped us to look deep inside, to set our priorities, and through your visits and journal have warmed us. Thank you. We miss you, hope, wish and pray for the best. Enjoy Australia. Now that i have found your web site I will visit often. Take care donna johnstone

[643] Dear Pam and Barb, You will be happy to know that I arrived home safely just after 1:00 p.m. today (Monday, our time) after dropping you off at Dulles at about 11:00 a.m. I am hoping everything went smoothly; that you were a the right place; that you had no trouble going through security; that you didn’t get too antsy waiting for the 3:00 takeoff; and that everything was on schedule and running smoothly. I have no idea when you will have access to a computer or will be able to read this, but please know that we are praying that everything is perfect on your trip. Barb and I both got e-mails from Tony with the Sydney Opera House schedule and assurance that they are looking forward to meeting us. (Tony, you probably won’t get to meet Barb. She leaves the day after I get there, but I am looking forward to our meeting). Kat is doing all sorts of great things on the website, allowing us at home to know what time it is where you are when we check the calendar. I love you both and though I am apprehensive of traveling that far alone, I am really looking forward to joining you "down under". Catch you later. Love, Mom

[642] Hi Pam, The nurses at Etter send a warm hello; (remember the many students from Shippensburg University). Dr. Coyle told us of your web page; you are in our thoughts and prayers; See any kangaroos in Australia? None of us have been there. God bless you, Hugs, the Etter Health Center nurses.

[641] Pam, Have a wonderful trip, and write when you can. Elaine & Rich Bernstein

[640] Have a wonderful time on your vacation! We’ll miss you, so keep up the journal whenever you can. You’re in our prayers. Love, Claire & Dick

[639] Have a great and memorable trip. Relax and kick back. We anxiously await all the trip news. Take lots of photos. I’ve told the kids that where you’ll be vacationing the toilets flush backwards, so now everytime they go "potty" they ask about Dr. Pam. Well now you know you’re really in ALL of our thoughts (often). Love, Ronni, Dave and "the boys"

[638] Hi Pam (and Barb!) - - We got home safely after our wonderful visit. Have an excellent time on your trip. I hope you are able to sleep not just tonight, but during the 18 hours or so that you will be in the air. We will be thinking of you daily (nightly, for you, half-way around the world). Take lots of pictures, and enjoy yourselves! Love, Kat, Bob & the boys. P.S. when you come here next week, David is going to tell you all about the 2 deer we saw on our way home.

[637] Pam, Just read your journal after several weeks. You were doing so well and taking off for Australia. What a shock to read about your setback. You have been on our prayer list at church since the 1st of June. We will beef it up! Have a wonderful trip. Bring your wig along in your bad and the other passengers will never notice! Take it easy and God bless. Love, Janie

[636] Hi, Pam! Thanks again for a great meal and great company for dinner last night. I’m so glad you’re going to Australia... have a wonderful time! We’ll be missing you. Feed the kangaroos for us! Love, Lynn, Bob, and the kids

[635] I think I am in good company as I wish you Bon Voyage on the eve of your trip, Pam. Enjoy it all!!!!! Love, Julia

[634] Dear Pam, My prayers will be traveling with you. Just don’t try to dooooo everything. Rest is more important. Barb - keep her in line. God Bless. Love, Aunt Mernie

[633] Pam - I spoke to Fish yesterday and he told me about your setback. It goes to show I can’t skip a week of Journal entries anymore. Your outward strength and positive attitude continue to give me great comfort and help me to put the day-to-day stuff in perspective. Just know that your always on my mind. Lots of love. - Drew

[632] Hi Pam. We are sorry to hear about your recent setback. You are in out thoughts and prayers. We all know you are a fighter. Enjoy your trip. Ann and Ralph Griffiths

[631] Hi Pam,

My parents, Bob and Susan Ruffini, passed your name along to me. Just wanted to let you know that people you don’t even know are praying for you. Your web site is terrific! Keep your spirits up and have great time on your trip! Carol Hauser

[630] Your journal is wonderful. You are in our hearts and prayers. I knew the first time I met you at the Carlisle Hospital Christmas party, when George worked in the ER that you are very special - I sure was not wrong.

Enjoy your trip - it sounds like just what you need.

Take care, keep that locker key so you may put your stuff back when you are better. They can’t keep a gal with your spirits down!

Love, Rena and George Ehly

[629] Pam, Back from my trip to Texas. Dave was home juggling the kids and work (my shoes were a bit tight!). I’m sure you’re hanging in there as well as I’m sure those little devils are being destroyed. Early retirement is not too bad, you can always start a new career - interior consulting (paints, fabrics, etc). I’d be first in line and as you know need LOTS of help. I’m sure you’ll need a little time to sort through mail when you return from your big trip, but maybe consider another trip up here (you know airplanes do fly here too). Your room is always ready for you. Much love and all our thoughts and prayers - Ronni and Dave (and the boys)

[628] 1/10/02 Hi Pam: Good thing you didn’t play golf, it was rather wet. I shot a lousy 57 I think. Just can’t stay away from having a nine and an eight hole. We are going to try again tomorrow if it doesn’t rain. You are such an inspiration - but alas not to my golf game. I know you will break a hundred more then once in Aussie land. Happy birthday to Kat. Enjoy your visit. Love and prayers Joan

[627] HI PAM ITS TRACEY RUSH!! SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR LITTLE SETBACK!! IT WAS GREAT TO SEE YOU IN ER THE OTHER DAY!! I THOUGHT YOU LOOKED FANTASTIC!! GLAD TO HEAR YOUR TRIP IS STILL ON!! HAVE A GREAT TIME!! LIVE IT UP!! YOU WILL BE IN MY PRAYERS! TAKE CARE! TRACEY!! BY THE WAY ASHLEY SAYS HI!!

[626] hello dr brothers, it was so unexpected when i looked up from my desk in the e.r. last week and there you were. You are an amazing woman. Carlisle e.r. had not been the same since you left. We had some interesting shifts, (fast track record of 44 patients in one day was you and me. I wanted to scream and quit that day... sorry about your need for radiation but glad to hear you did not need to cancel the Australia trip.. Hug a koala bear for me... love barb thimgan in carlisle hospital e.r.

[625] Pam, It was great seeing you, but very sad when you came back from MR. There is nothing stronger than the power of prayer and you most certainly are receiving thousands. Your attitude and great sense of humor throughout this whole experience is a blessing to everyone you know as well as a wonderful example to others who have cancer. I’m very happy to hear of your trip. My prayers are with you!! Kathy Thomas

[624] Those cancer cells just don’t know when they are licked. Beat those up hut good.

Glenn (#1), Rosanne, Kate, and Daniel

[623] Keep up the good fight! You will win! With your spirit and courage, you can’t lose. Barb and Russ Godfrey

[622] Hi Pam, It is great to see tons of love and prayers going your way. We are happy to also add our love and prayers. Demi and Paul May

[621] Dr. Pam - We can’t tell you how sorry we were to hear your news, and are praying that you have the strength and will to beat this (which we know you can!!). Our thoughts and prayers are with you! You may not feel it right now, but you are the bravest person I know, and in many ways, my hero (minus your piano playing, of course). #3 and family (Dave, Ronni, Sean, Jason, and Matt)

[620] Pam, When do you need someone to help? Let me know. I can cook. Pray, clean, hug, drive, listen, whatever. LOL Arlene

[619] Pam;

I missed a few days of your journal entries, and obviously missed quite a bit. Was extremely sorry to hear the latest, but I am happy that you are still going on your trip! I’m praying for you... keep fighting!

Chris

[618] Hi Pam, I am so sorry to hear about your recent set back. I too cried when I read the news. You are and have been incredibly brave...courageous...and still are!! Get your radiation and go on your trip. There have been other times when the odds have seemed insurmountable, and you and your body have responded to the challenge. I pray that you again respond to radiation. I would not change your travel plans unless you discover that it would be dangerous for you and your traveling com-panions. But that doesn’t have to be decided now. Stay strong with support of your family and friends and all of us praying for you, and charge into this next challenge. Go Girl! Love, Katie S.

[617] After another nearly sleepless night, I was wondering if we could come down on Thursday, instead of Friday? I would rather spend my birthday with you, than go to Visaggio’s. Love, Kat.

[616] Pam - - My heart goes out to you. I have to echo all the sentiments that I have read in the guest book. You are one of the bravest people I have ever seen. You never lose that sense of humor I have come to know and love about you. Don’t give up faith. As I have told you before, I BELIEVE IN MIRACLES and I’m praying that God will give us this miracle. I’m so glad that you came by the office today for a hug. Please know that I’m always available. I may not know what to say but I’m good at giving hugs. Love, Pat

[615] We are disappointed that your news was not better, but so glad you are going ahead with your trip. Bob and I are just vegetating presently as there is no golf so please know you can rely on two drivers here whenever you need one. God bless you and we’ll keep you in our prayers. Bob and Susan Ruffini

[614] Dear Pam, I was a few days behind and shocked to read your latest entries. We’re praying for you, kid. We got 13 inches of snow overnight and our school district (9,000 kids - all bused) wasn’t even closed. They opened 2 hours late. Difference in living up North. Got 4 more inches during the day today. Hang in there. Love you, Mernie 1/7/02

[613] I think you are one of the bravest people I’ve ever known. Hang in, Girlfriend, the Australia trip is almost here, and denial has always been my coping mechanism of choice. Go have a blast! And know that lots of prayers are with you. Tammy.

[612] Hey, Pam - - I got the new pictures of you in your Radiation Mast & posted them to the web site’s photo album. I think the second one is rotated 90 degrees (I assume you were actually on your back for that one) but I liked it better this way - - you look like SpiderWoman! Good luck with the rest of the radiation therapy this week. We can’t wait to come down to see you again. Love, Kat

[611] Dear Dr. Pam, What a shock to read the news today. I am so sorry that you have to go through this again. You don’t deserve this! I guess I’ll have to step up the pace and intensity of the prayers I say for you and hope the results reach you ASAP. I hope the MRI today went well. Keep your chin up. You are one of the bravest people I know. YOU CAN BEAT THIS!!! Love and Prayers, Barbara Goodrich PS - Your friends in the ER miss you and are also praying for you!

[610] Dear Pam, I talked to Tammy today. I’m sorry to hear the news. We’re all praying for you here in Sumter. I’m keeping my fingers crossed regarding the trip. (Here’s hoping for a delay instead of a cancellation) Much love, Nina

[609] Hey, Pam - We’re also sending loads of hugs & prayers your way. Marcia & Charlie G

[608] Dick and I are so sorry to hear of your news today. The lamb will stay frozen for whenever. Our hugs and prayers are with you, hope you can feel them. Again, IF YOU NEED ANYTHING!!!! we’re here for you. We love you and hope you can feel the hugs and prayers. Barbara and Dick

[607] Hi P. I watched "Wit" for the 5th time. I finally recorded it off HBO. Emma Thompson, cancer, John Donne poetry... it’s got everything. Guaranteed to make you cry. Very powerful. Meaning-of-life stuff. I want you to know you’re my hero. Just facing this as bravely as you have. I can’t wait for the party when you officially beat it. You will! ... and take lots of pictures Down Under. Love, cus tom

[606] I’m praying that tomorrow’s MRI will show that there’s nothing to worry about, but I’ll still make plans to join you in Australia for the 4th, 5th, and 6th week. I hope you get some sleep tonight and the weather doesn’t interfere with your getting to the hospital. The storm finally got up here and it has been snowing since about 2:30 this afternoon. Guess I’ll take the truck to Kat’s to babysit tomorrow. Love you, Honey, Mom

[605] Pam

Sorry you had a seizure. Good luck with your MRI. I’ll pray for you. Thank you for giving me credit for being your 8000th hit. I am very proud of that accomplishment. I thought you didn’t give me credit before because I didn’t help you remove your LEAVES!

LOVE Jim

[604] 01/06/02 - - Pam, I couldn’t sleep very well last night - - I kept thinking of you and wondering if you were having trouble sleeping as well. I have my pillow a bunch of hugs, and told it to tell its friends (yours) to give you some hugs back. I hope it worked. Call us tomorrow as soon as you know anything. We love you! Love, Kat, Bob, David & Andrew. P.S. David is once again wishing at the mall fountain for Aunt Pam to get better.

[603] So sorry to learn of your setback. Really tough to take when things have been going so good and almost on the eve of your trip. Bob and I will be praying for you and hoping you’ll yet be able to go. Let us know if we can be of any help. Love, Susan Ruffini

[602] Dear Pam, My mom has mentioned your positive outlook with regard to your fight against cancer. May she have the same strength and outlook as she fights hers. Thanks for fighting with grace. Keep your dukes up! Praying for you, Jennifer Erb

[601]  Hey, I'm #9000 on the journal page!!! I feel lucky, and the SC lottery starts Monday.  HMMM!!! Tammy
